By the letter of the law he was held. The ball comes out, sure. But as the tackle was completed, it is not possible to play on. It must be a scrum.

That video ref does not know the rules.

Maybe because the tackle was still in motion and he tried to place the ball in the field of play and stuffed it up !

Its good to have a laugh at the Raiders no doubt. But if that call cost your team a GF youd be furious.

I understand with judgement calls there can be mistakes. But that was clearly a no try and the video refs didnt or chose not to follow the rules.


the refs were probably after a good laugh as well.... try!

You are held if you are on the ground and an opposition player has his hand on you. That's it. Tackle completed. It's not possible to play on from there, as the ball is technically out of play.

Not the rule, whether the tackle was in motion or not he was held by the letter of the law. It shouldve been a scrum for the Dogs.
