Quite a few players from this years squad, a few changes had to be made due to age ineligibility and I've assumed both Jackson Hastings and Latrell Mitchell will have played 7 first grade games by then so I've left them off.

There's some bloody good back rowers going around if Ray Stone doesn't make the side.
There are some excellent back row options there with Pangai (jnr Kangas) and Fuimoano (NSW 20s) both returning and Crichton for mine a near certainty, I would have him in the starting team for Fuimoano or possibly May, although Stone is up with the best of them. Stone is obviously a year young but hits like a sledgehammer. Probably not the attacking threat of the other 3. They have selected so many back rowers and halves in this squad!! The squad is short in outside backs and the front row Twal, Clarke and Tatola the only recognised front rowers, although Brock Gray has played there and could therefore take Elliot's (more of a 13 for mine) place on the bench while Hamlin is more a 13 these days but has played mostly FR coming through the age groups. Might also see Pangai get a run in there at some point if he is still eligible haven't not played too much NRL. The unknown is obviously those that play over the 5 games of NRL by SOO 3. I would guess that Mitchell, Olive, Jennings, Pangai and Crichton could possibly be ineligible with first grade call ups. Good to see so many players returning from last year's victorious team.

My team would look like:

1 Latrell Mitchell, Sydney Roosters
2 Brian Kelly, Gold Coast
3 John Olive, Souths
4 Robert Jennings, Penrith
5 Curtis Scott, Melbourne
6 Nathan Cleary, Penrith
7 Jack Cogger, Newcastle
8 Alex Twal, Parramatta
9 Grant Garvey, Sydney Roosters
10 Oliver Clarke, Penrith
11 Tevita Pangai, Canberra
12 Angus Crichton, Souths
13 Nat Butcher, Sydney Roosters

14 Jacob Liddle, Wests Tigers
15 Tyrell Fuimoano, Parramatta
16 Brock Gray, Souths
17 Junior Tatola, Wests Tigers

I don't watch many non tigers NYC so can't comment on their guys. However Stone is the best wests junior forward I've seen since Ryan Hoffman back in 2002.

Definitely agree. There are few who come into 20s with the technique or willingness in defence that Stone has. He reminds me only a couple of years back watching Tepai Moeroa. Tepai then debuted at 18 in the NRL. While I don't expect Ray to debut too soon as he isn't as physically ready as Tepai was, he is an outstanding prospect who, as he continues to develop physically will come into his own. I wouldnt be at all against him being in the NSW 20s team and the more I consider it the more I would want him there. I'm told he will play 13 this year in NYC for the Tigers and there will be more than a few opposition big front rowers who wished they hadn't run at him.

Yep he changed every game when he came on this year by belting blokes 20kgs heavier than him. There wa was a photo on the Tigers Instagram a few weeks back of the rookies camp and he has put on size which is encouraging. I thought the Tigers might have brought he and a few others into the first grade pre season but they've only brought in Liddle and JJ Felise from the NYC team.

Will be interesting to see where Tyrone May ends up playing. He's been everywhere from fullback, centre, 5-8, lock and second row. A Jack Bird type player it seems
