I'm ok with Mann in for Aitken but I'm a bit perexed at why Mary seems reluctant to play Milne, a specialist right centre and playing beside his mate Nene who he has played a lot with in juniors and have a natural combination, both in attack and defense.

Curious.
Because after Milne got MOM, Millward and Mary would have to admit that they got it wrong - AGAIN.

Milne is young, big and fast with plenty of aggression. He comes cheap at this stage of his career. If a poor off-season is the problem, someone from the coaching staff should have been right onto it and had the problem immediately addressed in the off-season.

The Tigers have got a good one in Milne.

I think it was more a case of Lafai putting up his hand with a strong off season but I could be wrong....

I think it was more Aitken being preferred over Milne with the Dugan to right centre priority in mind. Just the same, it was not a good way to handle the hole affair. Aitken, Milne, Dugan and Lafai all good centres. But when you add in a couple of un-tested juniors it is a crowded list; too long for any club.

You only need to go back to Melbourne's 40 nil GF loss to see how valuable Smith is / was. Take Smith out of Melbourne and they win no premierships over the last decade, despite having Cronk and Slater and Bellamy.

It also takes a truly special player to win a game purely on force of will and those are who I regard as the best players. Watch Johns in 2000 GF and Thurston in 2015 GF. Both guided their teams to wins in the biggest games of their career simply by sheer determination.
Johns I agree with, but thurston? I rate him really highly but the 2015 grand final he wasn't great.

I know he won the Churchill, but I feel like that was a foregone conclusion if the cowboys got up. (I actually backed NQL into thurston for CC because I figured it would work out that way.)

It's about the influence he had on the game. Like Johns in 2000 (Ben Kennedy was MOM) Thurston actually wasn't best player on the field - but go back and watch how many times he touches the ball in that second half. Morgan might have pulled off the miracle play at the end but it was Thurston who kept them camped down the Broncos end most of the second half. He just kept going at the Broncos until they broke.

Speaking of Members - I've renewed my membership for remaining Kogarah games. I'm more than happy with the progress we've made from last season.
That's great! Are you also a member of the Leagues Club with full voting rights? The more new members the better the chance that we can cause change.

I think that is a case of rose coloured glasses. We have some glaring weakness down the right side defence and will get unpicked as soon as the forwards have an off day.

That Mary can't/won't act on this will get us eventually.
Let's hope Mary does something about our defence on the right over this extended break between games. You are right to signal this as our major problem to address.

Yes 10 years Red V and Leagues Club member since glory days of 2010:thumbsup:
Ok that's good. When it comes to being able to vote, could you please let the forum know. I want to have my say.

What's most important to me is an answers to the questions; why haven't we concluded the WIN deal?

What is happening with TPA for our marquee players?

The Roosters are the only other club reportedly interested in Dugan at the moment. So the ANZAC Day game could yield a negative for the Dragons if Dugan has a blinder.

Well done FlameThrower,

The team is producing on the field, can't ask anymore from them. Buckle up, there going to be rippers and the more screaming fans the better.

Wash your mouth with soap! We have a long turn around before the ANZAC Day game against the Roosters, so the boys should be fresh and ready to rip in. After that we can rely on the confidence we have earned for games up to our first bye.

Milne is off to the Tigers so it's Lafai we must retain for 2018 and beyond. He is playing well now and if he continues to show this form, we will be fine with the left centre position.

With Melbourne putting in that performance WE ARE SITTING first due to our excellent attack and defence. SO CONGRATULATIONS are in order.

We MUST be doing something right with a below standard half and an equally inept coach. WHAT IS IT??????????

We havent got speed in the half or wings. I know that Nightengale has no speed and nene hasnt showed jack this year. (has he scored a try yet).

WHAT IS IT.
Dare I say it, we have finally discovered 'real Dragons footy'.
