Really scraps ?
He is a great young player fit big strong just needs more time in nrl to gain the experience
I disagree.

I know a good player when I see one.

I knew Fuimaono and Crichton would be guns.

I'm still 50/50 on Murray.

Re Gosiewski I have seen him play and I don't rate him.

Stats from nswrl.com,au

These are really good, better than NRL stats. Have a good look at Pages 4 and 5.

Round 4

Round 5

Round 6

Round 7

Round 8
http://www.nswrl.com.au/content/dam/nswrl/documents/STATS REPORT - Norths v NZ Warriors Round 8.pdf

I can't get access to the first 3 weeks and if anyone can it would be greatly appreciated.

Tyrell, though not making heaps of metres, does his job and I think given the chance he would not let us down. Page 4 is negative play. I think in 4 out of 5 weeks big Dave had zeros for everything. 2 penalties the other week. So, in five weeks 2 penalties and no errors and minimal missed tackles.

I thought he looked good in the pre season until he let himself down with the whole hands on hips thing...

In the starting front row in first grade you have to be able to make reasonable metres. FACT.......

Also you have to be able to keep up with the speed of the game and Tyrrell is past it unfortunately!!!!

f**k the bears have always underperformed. The 20's is where it's really at. Travitoh im the one that rates doueihi. The kid is a gun for how young he is. He represented Lebanon a few months ago as well.

Murray and doueihi will see first grade spots sooner rather than later if our current first grade players don't step up.

Next in line to get a call up imo is greinke kid is performing really well this year for the bears since returning from injury.

oi R20 im actually just waiting for the north sydney water boys on the side lines to make the souths 1st grade squad i think the water boys can actually snatch greinke"s spot in the future what do you think R20?...Shadow..

Poor poor north Sydney :( if you think about it there's not much incentive for them to perform. Especially since Madge hasn't shown interest in any of them.

I have found the stats for the Bears first 3 games. IMHO they highlight brilliantly the difference in the reaction of Tom, George and Dave to being dropped.

My apologies to Tom, in an earlier post I stated that from memory Tyrell may have outshone him in Round 3. I got that wrong.

For George and Tom, I expect them to absolutely tear it up in attack, like Taupau last weekend, or Taumololo and Fifita at their best. You look at the blokes they are lining up against and they should be taking them to school. I don't expect them to live up to these other guys defence, but 200m+ should be a minimum requirement for the twins at this level.

With Dave, my expectations are less than half of what I have with the twins, reflective of their respective price tags. I expect him to make his tackles, with minimal misses, errors and penalties. I would however have liked to see his run metres and metres/run improve (not to the same extent as the twins obviously) but they have not generally.

For all 3 what I would like to see before promoting them back to first grade is delivering on said expectations. Whether that means remaining at the Bears for 1 week or 1 year is irrelevant. I believe a big part of the issues with the twins are ego related (George especially) and if you can't get motivated in your first week of reserves than clearly you need a second, and so on.

Too many coaches (Madge included) today are not only too hesitant to drop a "star player", but also rush them straight back to first grade next game. If you get dropped and then play rubbish against lesser opposition you need to stay dropped.

Round 1
http://www.nswrl.com.au/content/dam/nswrl/documents/isp-stats-reports-2017/Rd1-MagpiesBears.pdf

Highlights
George - 45 mins, 8 runs, 79 metres, 28 tackles, 2 misses, 2 try causes,

Compared to NRL
Tom - 43 mins (from bench), 11 runs, 104m, 27 tackles, 5 missed
Dave - 37mins, 8 runs, 76 metres, 20 tackles, 0missed, 1 offload.

I cannot see why Madge rewarded George with promotion back to Souths in Round 2, Of the three of them he was the worst, in reserve grade. If I was to drop either Dave or Tom it would have been Tom. Dave gave close to what is expected on his wage. Tom did not.

Round 2
http://www.nswrl.com.au/content/dam/nswrl/documents/isp-stats-reports-2017/Rd2-SeaEaglesBears.pdf

George went back to Souths and did ok in a dominant performance against Manly, however I won't focus on George this round or next. We all saw how he went for Souths.

Highlights
Tom - 47 mins, 15 runs 163 metres, 1 linebreak, 5 tacklebreaks, 15 tackles, 1 missed, 1 penalty
Dave - 45 mins, 12 runs 120 metres, 15 tackles, 0missed

Round 3
http://www.nswrl.com.au/content/dam/nswrl/documents/isp-stats-reports-2017/Rd3-KnightsBears.pdf

Highlights
Tom - 52mins, 20 runs, 241 metres(94 post contact), 5 decoy runs on top, 3 tacklebreaks, 2 offloads, 18 tackles, 2 missed,1 penalty, 0 errors
Dave - 51mins, 12 runs, 104 metres,1 tacklebreak, 24 tackles , 0 misses,1 error, 1 penalty.

Tom - earned promotion for next week based on performance which improved with more time in reserves, unlike George two weeks previously,
Tyrell - did his job, no need to promote unless desperate.

I n summary, I believe if Madge had of given George a longer stint in the reggies earlier in the year, I believe he may have been performing closer to his best by now. I still believe he can make this happen.
