Delaware in for a long season? Or Nova a standout? Wish I could watch some of these games.

Massive win for us at Tampa. We gave debuts to three guys due to them training hard and competition for places is always good. Some of the more established guys will need to step up in training if they want their places back

42-6 Kings over Fight.

First regular season loss for the Fight in YEARS

Shaping up to be an interesting USARL season already.

What these clubs need is to set up a academy/youth system. Get the youth involved with League so as they get pass highschool there's potential players now available to come out and play for the teams also it helps educate the locals about each club so the fan base can grow. Can't sustain. League and the if no one knows who or what you are.

What they need is $30k to employ someone 3 days a week to source sponsorship and gov relations. Then use that money to get youth program.

There are grants etc available for youth sports but it would have to be implemented league wide. Secondly kids can't be traveling eight hours each way to Atlanta like we do

But wouldn't the idea be to make the youth set up (if it ever happened) more localised with players then filtering up to the Parent club?

Yes but, we haven't the resources for example to set up say three schools comps in our vicinity playing at say 5 age groups. Even IF (and that's a humongous if) we had the financial clout we'd never have the man power. As it is me and Billy are basically working two full time jobs, Otter does what he can and the Australians are, well, in Australia. Just isn't going to happen in the near future

We all probably know that but there's always the fantasy element to a forum (not saying that's a bad thing).

I honestly think the best route to take would be to establish reserve grades > U19 > U17 and then possibly from there. Failing that palling up with the local University Rugby Union sides and advertising that as a pathway. We were hoping to get the reserves off the ground this year but we haven't had the numbers, two more injuries for this weeks game and we're already into the 20s 'squad numbers' but hopefully when we get a few bodies back we'll be good to get a few reserves games in. Couple of guys moved away last minute for work and an unfortunate retirement has left us a few men down even though we've got 7 new players in the squad. We actually had 12 new guys but we lost 5 in pre season =[
