NSW going forward

big hit!

This is wrong imo. We dominated the first game plus 50 minutes of the second, we cruised to 16-6 in that second game and then choked. We have been poorly coached, very poorly coached really and there is still a couple dead weights getting picked. We keep picking the most flustered half back ever and we keep choking.

semantics, but daley and walters, and the others before them don't 'coach'. when you have 8 days to prep elite footballers, it's more management. but i suppose these terms will linger, like hookers, front rowers and backrowers.

and yes, daley was inflexible to change in his game management. interchange were the same the entire series (bird only saw more game time in game 1 because pearce was injured). compare that to walters and how he changed up his interchange from game 2 to game 3. he seemed to manage the game according to how it was progressing. hess as an example, played a bit part in game 2, but was introduced earlier in game 3.

Teddy, has the potential to be the best FB in the game. I wasn't impressed with his defence prior to this year, but this year he showed me that he is a smart footballer. I think he will be even better than Slater and Boyd once he gets involved in the attack a bit more in the opposition 20.

but once again, if the forwards aren't moving, your good players aren't gonna do shit. he was solid at the back in game 3 but hardly had any game-breaking impact. doesn't offer much when the big boys are getting beaten. this has been the problem with a lot of NSW star or impact players. they're downhill runners.

in contrast, dugan was outstanding in his fullback cameo in game 2 after Graham's brain snap in defence allowed the Mcgurie line break and gagai's first try. under a lot of pressure from QLD's kicking game and chase, Duges made tough metres, much of it after initial contact, getting the ball out of NSW red zone. it was something Gagai has been doing for 2 consecutive series now. even when the big men weren't moving, he was a big pressure release valve early in sets.

he's probably too slow for the wing, but if Duges does get selected next year and IMO, there is no reason he shouldnt because he was ione player who should hold his head up high after games 2 and 3, it sould be as a fullback or winger. use his ability to run the ball out to NSW advantage.

I agree with you, Woods should never play for NSW again

I'm sort of puzzled how you come away from game 3 with that view? As I said earlier, he was repeatedly targetted by Morgan coming out of his line and a more creative fullback takes advantage of that the 2nd or 3rd time it happens.
If you watch Cameron Munster, he doesn't even really need it to happen once, he takes advantage immediately, with one leading to a try.

I'm not basing it off game 3, I am looking at him in general overall this year and his rep games. While he had some solid positional play in G3, he was out of position at times. He did however make good reads and showed me glimpses of potential better than any other FB we have.

All he needs to do is get more involved in the red zone attack, but that was hard in G3 as we had no ball or opportunities.

I hate the roosters, but this guy is going to be a gun for them and NSW

I'd go with players playing in their correct positions, not selecting them because they are playing fantastic for their selective clubs, otherwise we should have/could have 4 fullbacks, 5 wingers, 5 second rowers etc.

I also want leaders who gets stuck into their team when there's a stop in play, be it after a try has been scored against them and for them.
I'd go with mongrel, someone with plenty of aggression in all of their defensive work as well, who is that?
I'd go with a back rower to play for 80 minutes and not replaced because there's a reserve that hasn't had a run yet.
Can we pick centres in the centre? A right centre to play right side, a left centre on the left.
An edge forward who normally or only plays

Is there a No 9 who can do something from dummy half? can kick maybe? can skirt out of dummy half? who can do that and more and still do 35 tackles for 80 minutes? I was happy when Farah was overlooked (he wasn't going to play was he?) and happy that Peats got a go but gee, can he kick? can he do anything other than tackle ?

I'd go with the following and in brackets are 2nd choice/backups

1. Tedesco (Dugan)
2. Mansour ( Wighton)
3. Bird
4. Walker
5. Trbojevic
6. Moylan (Maloney / Keary)
7. Maloney (Reynolds) but Nathan Cleary to spend time with squad)
8. Boyd
9. Peats
10. Klemmer
11. Cordner
12. Jackson
13. Merrin

14. Trbojevic
15. Vaughan
16. Graham
17. Frizell
18. Fifita
19. Nathan Brown
20 Gutherson
21 Tepai Moeroa

Not bad. Wighton is a fullback and you want players in their positions.

This was the best chance NSW had to win a series. They couldn't. No matter who you pick, this isn't going to change. QLD are going to dominate this format of the game for a very long time.

Disagree. The biggest difference between the two teams and has been for some time is the Qld spine. All 4 will be immortals and i doubt we'll see anything like it again. At least 2 won't be there next year with the other 2 not far behind. The playing field will level right out and if NSW can get their spine right, possibly even shift dramatically in favour of the Blues.

I'd go with Maloney and Cleary in the halves - a mix of youth and experience with Moylan or even Gutherson being used from the utility spot. Probably Peats at 9 unless McInnis can take another step forward in his development and challenge for a spot and Tedesco at FB with Tom Trbojevic on a wing, possibly replacing him one day.

1 Tedesco
2 Mansour
3 Dugan
4 Bird
5 Trbojevic
6 Maloney
7 Cleary
8 Klemmer
9 Peats
10 Vaughan
11 Cordner
12 Graham
13 Trbojevic

14 Moylan
15 Frizell
16 Brown
17 Fifita

That's if i was to pick a side tomorrow, obviously there is a lot of time to pass by between now and next series.

Gus has already told NSWRL to get f**ked if they're wanting to pick Cleary next year.

Hillbilly Woods was never an Origin player. He's a plodder overweight.
He must be mates with Daley..if we get a new coach Sharon Woods won't be picked
Him and Fifita embarrassed themselves We'd night....

Forget it. Our pack was humiliated - again - by blokes willing to get off their line and dominate every tackle by hitting hard and often hitting low.

We have 2 blokes capable of hitting hard and hitting low - Josh J and Jake T. We don't have a side capable of making their defence their asset at this level. Don't ask me why because I don't know the answer but that is where the game is usually won or lost. Yes great spine players put the icing on the cake but when you can't compete at the basics of the game and really rip in defensively then it's over.

And these blokes pick up 30K after each game even though they lose the series every year. That shit has to stop.

Couldn't agree more. This is why the likes of Tedesco aren't worth $1m. They will score your points for you when you are already winning, but if you are losing, there's nothing they can do.

Sounds like bullshit to me but you'd hope they've learnt something from the Pearce saga. He's too young.

You'd also think they'd have learnt something from the practice of proclaiming someone as the saviour after one good game.

Dugan, Morris and Ferguson have to go, and Tommy T and Mansour replace them

Woods out, Vaughan in
Paulo to partner Vaughan in the front row
Fifita back to bench, Jake T starting at 13.
Josh Jackson stuffed in a rocket and fired into the f**king sun
Friz to the edges

So something in the realm of:

1. Tedesco
2. Tom T
3. Bird
4. Hayne
5. Mansour
6. Maloney
7. Cleary
8. Vaughan
9. Peats/Wallace
10. Paulo
11. Cordner (c)
12. Frizzel
13. Jake T

14. Wallace/Peachey/Moylan
15. Fifita
16. Klemmer
17. Graham

Obviously come 2020 the blues won't need to worry too much, by then the great one Nick Cotric will be ready and they can just build a dynasty around him

They'll carve Paulo up around the ruck. He'll be another 15kg heavier next year.

Nothing is going to change with that mob unless someone comes in a tears the place down, tells the players how it is going to be and instils some mongrel and brains in them. Tell them they no longer get their 30K losers fee as well. f**k the resort style living off. f**k the casino off. Piss the 10 day camps off. None of that has worked for over a decade.

Seriously, Boyd Cordner is captain. FFS.

Brett Morris was only playing because Mansour and Trobevic were injured. If they were available he wouldn't have played. I thought he was good in this series and didn't disgrace himself.
