We miss Stokes so much because, Root aside, our top 5 suck. And the Stokes-Bairstow-Ali-lower order combo were our batting strength.

Some will laugh, but Joe Burns wouldn't look out of place in the side IMO. Just banged 200 not and has been in good form, has 3 test hundreds as well and has batted well in the middle order at times.

A bit like Shaun Marsh he's never going to be a permanent addition but if Handscomb continues to struggle for form I don't think he'd let us down for a few tests.

Honestly, I'd take Burns over Handscombe right now.
The scores in shield cricket are insane at the moment so it's hard to tell if form is that good or the pitches that easy to bat on. A bit of both I guess.
