Yeah we only want Origin players in our top 30 FFS!

Would you have Lane as a starting back rower? Why has he been at 3 clubs at 23 and going onto his 4th if he's so good.

The fact is Lane is a fringe first grader who would not be a permanent starter. He's slow and lazy.

Even Hasler won out with the swap deal with Faitala-Mariner
i can guarantee Lane will be another Evans like failure.

The dude is currently playing first grade. He is only a bad signing if he's getting paid too much, and you know with our penny-pinching club that is unlikely.

We already have starting back rowers. They have been the least of our problems.

Well why the f**k are you supporting the idea of recruiting Lane ffs.

We should only be looking at players who will definitely cement a starting position atm, and Lane is a fringe player at best. We can fill these fringe positions with players coming through the system

Signing all these fringe bums is exactly the reason why Parramatta are last.

The Vave's, Hoffman's, Evans, Matagi, Frichard, Williams, Gower, Beu, Watmough all players who were either past their best, or fringe players all taking good cap space and unable to cement long term starting positions.

Parramatta need to break this viscous cycle, sack brad and start again hopefully with Madge Maguire or similar. Our recruitment has been a total disgrace and all due to Arthur's selfish career saving methods.

We've never been in a worse position

Lane is what he is. A 23yld who has some potential but at worse can play his part in a top 17. Wether you go for some big names and spend more in your starting 13 and just getting enough from a guy like Lane while there off or as a guy who comes to club ranked between 18-23 in pecking order. Signings like this are good. He could go to another level or he could stay where he is at. That means he covers when injuries and its easy to drop him if a young junior bursts onto the scene.
Being 23yld I dont see how he wont improve. Would be huge odds thawt he gets worse rather then better.
Sometimes these WHITE boys take longer to develop there strength. Especialy in the forward pack.
Gavin Cooper was a bog average player till he hit about 27. Cowboys let him go, Titans let him go, Panther fans couldn't wait till he left. Now he is an origin player.

Agree some of those signings where not good. But they played their parts. LANE is completely diferent type of signing. All guys above had peaked or where on way down. And most would of cost a lot more.

Another measured post by Chiefy. I hope you get drawn to challenge BA at annual jelly wrestling night. BA certainly deserves some criticism, but alleging that this is all to with 'selfish career saving methods' is horseshit.

It's easy to say that we should only be looking at players who will definitely cement a starting positiion.....except your ability to sign those players is related to cost and abilities of the bench players and rest of the squad......and bench forwards can have a big impact on games.

That said, I would only sign Lane for the purpose of watching Rammy's response.

And Lane adds height, which we lack. He can do a job - middle or edge. And he's had some good games for Manly.

No we're coming last because our best players have all been out of form or injured.
Here we go, confirmed on you favourite website, chiefy1: http://thecumberlandthrow.com/2018/06/21/numbers-do-lie-part-2-halves-and-half-nots/

Do you disagree?

And unlucky.....

Some games we have been woefull. Souths comes to mind as does one against Knights and Raiders .

But game 2 vs Panthers, Brisbane, Dogs, Warriors where 4 games we could of won. I feel we should of won . Sharks game with a bit of luck we win.

Any glance of us coming good was shot down when Mannah and Kaysa went down. Perhaps we win those tight ones against Dogs,Brisbane,Nz had they played.
And with confidence building and a roll on I highly doubt we get flogged against knights and Souths.

What's the chances Jarryd does a 6-8 week injury during the rep round? and Mennings too while I'm at it.
