Should throw in a few BRL/QRL players at least into the Hall Of Fame.

The idea that the NSWRL is the end of the universe is sickening...

there are brl/qrl players in the hall of fame. some examples include Wally Lewis, Duncan Thompson, Jimmy Craig, Duncan Hall, Tom Gorman, Dan Dempsey, Mick Madsen, Gene Miles, Barry Muir......

You clearly dont get social drugs. Ecstacy makes u play better? Ok...

It does if it helps you deal with the stress and emotional toil of playing. Ever heard people say the game is as much mental as physical? He confessed he used illegal and banned substances to help him unwind and deal with the pressure of playing. If that’s not performance enhancing don’t know what is it. Great player though, shame he was a pinger.

All that does is point to his addiction. In his mind he would think he is relaxed but in reality his body would be well below its best.

I just want to hear a sports programme (radio or TV) replay Mals speech from the super league war where League gave him nothing to last night where it gave him everything.

It was pre 1988. It cant be argued otherwise. The reason for SOO is that the NSWRL was the greatest RL comp in the world and all the best Qld players played in it.

This.

The fact that a guy who was so good on the pitch was so flawed off it, humanises the game and really drives home the complexity and broken nature of our sport. It's part of our game; rugby league is and always will be a selfdestructive, cannibalistic sess pit. Those who get out unscathed probably haven't done much within it.
