Zac Lomax is a class player - and a great signing for the Eels for the next four years.

But several members of the playing group at the Dragons won't be sorry to see him leave the Big Red V in 2025.

Lomax is a different sort of bloke to the average footballer and is not among the more popular players in the Dragons' camp. The fact he has been so vocal about wanting out for months also caused some angst with team-mates.

"He's a great player, no doubt, but he won't be missed," one Dragons source told me.

Well tbh i would think Lomax has been at the dragons longer then any other Ben Hunt and De Belin.

He made his debut in 2018 which is 6 years ago and the joint has been a rabble under Mary & Griffin ever since.

He probably just sick of being in the bottom 3 or 4 teams and wants a clean slate.

Continually losing is going to drag the culture and attitude down with frustration.

Lomax is similar to Luke Brooks but Brooks problem was it took him a decade to get out of the Tigers when he should have left 3 years ago.

Lomax probably realised there is no point hanging around 2 more years not knowing if things turn around or not and by then he is 26-27 half his career is already gone.

NRL360 talked about it was surprising the Chooks didnt chase Lomax considering the amount of outside backs they have leaving at end of this year.

And the lack of outside backs on the market for next year. There basically going to rely on a club releasing a player to get some more quality there next year.

Manu, Suualli, Tupou all gone - Billy Smith can't get on the park regularly enough.

They have had to get a 36 year Jenko in there atm to plug a hole.

And the lack of outside backs on the market for next year. There basically going to rely on a club releasing a player to get some more quality there next year.

They have had to get a 36 year Jenko in there atm to plug a hole.

We have a pathway and money.

Dogs have beefed up junior system but also blocked a lot of pathways. Especially in the 2-5 position and 2nd row. Along with Hooker and 5/8 they have young long term options.
