NOW f**king GET THAT MESSAGE TO THAT DICKHEAD THAT CURRENTLY COACHES THE CLUB.

FFS I wish I could just have a few weeks with Carney and I'm sure I could make him a far more effective player.

He has all the skills .. kicking, passing, stepping, speed ... just needs a specialist coach to round off those rough edges.

This club sucks big at times ... they just seem to take every shortcut they can take.

Half arsed efforts will get us nowhere ... and that is where we are heading as long as the curent decsions makers remain.

He knows Bay the other idiot doesn't and unfortunately for us he isn't the one running drinks out to the lads.

Moving Carney to no 6 isn't magically going to fix everything. He'll continue to suck there until he either learns to organise the team around him better, or someone is placed alongside him (either at 6 or 7) who can take care of the organisational aspect. I really have NFI why Henry persists with the Carney-Campese combination, it just doesn't work. I'd rather try Herbert there as he definitely has some organisational nous, and dare I say it, Dobson is another option.

Campo is trying hard but just isn't a half. We keep saying he should be tried at lock but doesn't seem to be happening. The team looks quite low on confidence at the moment, and hence is not playing anywhere near to its potential.

Agree
herbert or dobbo at 7 , they can oranise the team , Carney cant do this and its been proven time and time again.
Carney to 6 , can play his damaging running game from there.
Campo can play 13 , he can also provide a damaging running game

I cant imagine the team having much convidence , Henry walking out on you preferring to coach a different team half way through his contract, its enough to doubt yourself.

Your point is taken lads so why doesnt Henry understand this as well??

Any idiot would know that Campo is never going to be the organisational half that a top 4 team requires ... Dobbo on his day can fulfil that role ... Herbert is untried but worth the chance.

It's looking like Hinchy will be out from 6 - 8 weeks with a broken thumb.

I'm hoping either Herbert or Dobbo will be elevated next week.

the sooner we blood herbert, the better. I cant understand why we are waiting (though I think he may be injured). It is obvious the club believes that herbert / carney is the halves pairing to take us forward, otherwise why would thy have offered them such long contracts??

The number on his back means absolutely nothing. Darren Lockyer is named at 5/8 and wears the 6 but he is a halfback the way he plays (ie gets the ball almost every play).

Selecting Carney at 6 isn't going to magically make him get the ball any less or in any different position.

It has been some time since I've seen Herbert play ... I'm just not 100% convinced yet that he has the organisational part of the package warpped up. Dobbo has proven, on occassions, that he is more than capable ... my question is has Dobbo been given the extended period required to form a combination with Carney.

Btw I saw Flanagan for the first time last night ... OK that was his first game this year in FG, etc etc ... cant say on that performance I was overly impressed ... I've seen Hinchy play better.

Dobbo was good at home and abysmal away (generally) last year - he personified the Raiders problem as a whole from the last decade.

I'm happy to see Dobbo given another chance, but I'm not expecting it to be the magic solution everyone else seems to think it'll be.

I haven't watched too many Raiders games this season so I don't know how Carney has fared but the point of putting Carney at five eighth is to let him get the ball second pass off the ruck, not first. If he is forced to be first off the ruck because he has to organise the team all the time he is less effective. If you have someone doing the organising then Carney can play his own game.

Carney gets plenty of ball at second receiver.

The problem is he isn't organising the team or taking decent 5th and 6th tackle options at the moment.

As Paullyboy has said, it doesn't matter what bloody number he has on his back if the problem is he's getting tackled on the last or chip kicking it straight to their fullback while the other 12 players are running around like headless chickens.
