Whose fault is that if not the coaches?

Was going to ask the same thing.

It's all well and good saying Kearney doesn't have the talent at his disposal, but whose problem is that? He has had plenty of time to put his mark on the roster - and the current make up is generally because of him.

His biggest failure is that he has put together a rabble team.

Sandow missing tackles aint Mooks' fault. Not assigning any assistance Tunza style, is.

Sandow's poor organising aint Mooks' fault. Not getting him and Roberts to play at the line is.

Sandow is playing with less confidence than Sam Thaiday in a room full of Mitchell Pearces. That is a sign of a poor coach.

He was probably a very good assistant coach, with Bellamy telling him what to do and coming up with ideas, and Maguire doing all the difficult assistant stuff Kearney just had to handle the easy stuff. Almost like an extra team member between the coaches and the players

Exactly, Michael Hagan looks like a great assistant coach for QLD, but was fairly poor at the knights.

According to wiki hes coaching Balmain Premier League. And for a while he coached Fiji.

Good to know he's going places

Kearney has a lot more at his disposal in every respect, including a more even comp overall. And his record is only going to get worse the longer it goes on.
That's not necessarily true. You would expect that over a long enough sample a coach's record would revert to mean, whatever that is. This isn't to say that Kearney is a good coach, but he was never as bad as he looked at Parramatta, where coaching careers go to die. Both he and Ricky Stuart (and Hagan and Arthur if he ever gets another opportunity) would all go better at other clubs than Parramatta.

The head coach is actually a small part of what makes a team successful. Guys like Bellamy and Bennett have all the support they need to achieve consistent success. Likewise unemployed coaches such as Hasler, Maguire and Griffin.

Individual coaches stats don't have to revert to the mean. It is not just probability that determines their numbers. Overall coaching stats might do this, but not individual examples.

I think Pou, that you were closer to the mark when you identified face and head proportions. These will also revert to the mean across a large sample, but Kearney's face isn't going to revert to the mean.

He’s broken a few Warriors hoodoos this year, win in Perth, most away wins in a season, beating Dragons twice in a season and another win against Manly... there’s a few more no doubt but I’m a few beers in

I think even Langmack would have got the Panthers to the finals the last 2 years and have them equal fourth last Monday.
