In particular, Tepai Moeroa the man who has inherited the blue and gold No.13 jumper.
The 20-year-old has been getting all the pearls of wisdom from the 300-game player on how to play a position he has never played before.
Choc [Anthony Watmough] has been great in giving me pointers and tips to improve and learning my positional play and where to be, Moeroa said.
Its all the little things like leading the defensive line, learning to play big minutes with a huge workrate and support play.
We have a lot of experienced players here and Im trying to learn as much as I can.
Moeroa is benefiting from a specialised pre-season schedule that was designed to improve his troublesome left shoulder that plagued his 2015 season.
I basically spent the whole pre-season strengthening my shoulders to get ready for the new season, said Moeroa, who has played 36 games since his debut in 2014.
It has allowed me to focus on learning my new role. At lock you have a licence to roam, left and right and can pop up anywhere. Im just taking it week by week and looking to improve.
The Junior Kangaroo also has a new pre-game ritual courtesy of his new cornrows matchday hair style.
I get my hair done in the morning and that usually takes 30 minutes and I usually have a walk and get some lunch, he said.
