Jets look set to stage a late surge on the business end of the comp...
Blackhawks were pushed by the Falcons this weekend and sit third behind a strong Burleigh and Dolphin team...not much separating the top 6 tiers teams and given the form of the teams outside the top 6 in the recent weeks could see a change in the table come the end of the regular comp..
I hope the Hunters find some consistency in their starting 17 and create more attacking options in second phase play...
Wishful thinking on my part that they start playing the open and flexible style of footy the PNG way...

PNG are a strange team.

Nearly every game (in Qld - haven't seen any in PNG), they'll start really conservatively and slowly (5 hit ups to kick type of footy). The other team will get out to a 20 point lead, they will start throwing the ball around, but playing really good structure (which they should be all the time), and then as soon as they get back within 6 points they go straight back to 5 hit ups and kick.

I think a massive problem of theirs is their players change position so much. During a game at least 3 different players will play fullback, and 3 different hookers, and halves. It's really bizarre. I can see why none of them know where to be any of the time.

true, at times there's no specialist front rows as another dummy half or outside back is on the paddock, and they lack go forward in some of the critical stages of the match towards the back end of the second half...

I agree on their slow conservative starts...very frustrating from a spectators POV
game management by the halves need to improve IMO

Probably has had his time and the club will benefit from a fresh approach.

He did pretty well - made the finals for the last three years and still not totally gone yet this year. I thought 2013 was a great effort, losing their original coach Graeme Murray, losing four front rowers from 2012 (Carlaw, Gubb, Dodds and Smith), having a few other injuries, Buchanan taking over at short notice and still making the semis.

Yeah I was keen for your view on this.

Is there anyone in the coaching set up who may step up or do you think they will look external?

I would think Chris McKenna would be the most high profile out of who is there but I would hope that they look outside the circle. It's handy if you have someone who attracts a few players via contacts where there have coached before. You miss out on that if you stick with your existing staff.

A good win to the Gulls tonight 11-10 in a quality match against Redcliffe.

The "Welsh Wizard" Matt Seamark landed a field goal from 35 metres with 4 to go after a late Mitch Cronin try had got Wynnum to 10-all.

Crucial to them maintaining some hope of making the semis. Big games coming up against Souths and Pride who are both in the mix for the sixth spot as well.

Thanks, that's great.

The QRL site has got too complex for its own good. A simple list of the games and scores is all you are looking for most of the time.
