Cracking race at Spa. Verstappen is a gun - love his no BS style even if he has to temper it with experience.

Another impressive drive to 2nd from Ricciardo. Incredible effort from Hamilton & Mercedes for 3rd. All too easy for Rosberg out in front. Never challenged.

Max has to work on his defending though. He's going to cause an avoidable accident one day.

He almost did. Again. The comparisons with Senna and Schumacher are valid in this regard.

He didn't move twice against Kimi, but he did move very late. I think he did the same sort of move to Alonso last time out. If he pulls that stunt on a less capable driver there is going to be a big one.

problem is max drives like he's still racing karts.
as a kart racer myself, hoping to go into cars soon, that type of aggressive defending and attacking is common place in karting. max is very lucky that kimi is so experienced, would've been an airplane crash.

It's not really a problem though, is it. The karting observation is valid.

Max is being very aggressive - moving twice is a no-no. Moving late, even in the braking zone is not.

And more less capable drivers are entering the F1 these days. Kvyat, Wehrlein, Palmer, Ocon.

His late breaking into corners is a magnificent defending tool, he doesn't need those sudden jerky counter moves to defend his spot.

His race craft is getting worse and worse with each passing race. Especially with the comments where he admits to just wanting to get revenge on the Ferrari drivers etc it's starting to get a little pathetic.

His race craft is unbelievable for an 18 year old. Criticism should be levelled at Renault - they have two drivers who really should not be out there. And at Vettel - the turn one incident was all his doing but he is a protected species.

Max is the most exciting driver in F1 since Shumacher turned up and ruffled everyone's feathers. Max has had an even bigger impact.

Kimi tried to game the 'new guy' by handing back the place he took right when the DRS would assist. Max - as young as he is - anticipated this perfectly and drove accordingly. Kimi got the message as well.

No incidents needed any further action by the stewards. All we hear is whinging from ex-champs who feel entitled and who seem to think everyone has to yield whenever they see a scarlet car in their mirrors.

Monza has become a really boring race.

But appears it has been retained for future seasons.

While there's question marks on whether Nico Rosberg has the mental toughness, the ruthlessness, the gigantic balls to win a world championship Lewis Hamilton is out pulling pranks on freakin tigers!

Check out @LewisHamilton's Tweet:

Ricciardo got away ok. Verstappen blew his race at the start.

What another lap or two might have been like....

How did they restart with the marshall on the track? Instant reminder of Tom Pryce - and that was 40 years ago. Should not happen today.

Great win for Dan  doesn't make up for Monaco though.

Some good battles but an overall boring race.

Don't really like Lewis ( to be fair don't really like Nico either) but hearing his radio message as it happened was heartbreaking. Definitely weird that he has been having so many mechanical failures

love watching races at Suzuka, but now it's always going to be a bit sad after Jules Bianchi's crash in 2014.
