They moved all the games to a few concentrated venues to save money, both for CA and nine. it won't change.Proposals for next year's tournament:
- Cricket Australia should do away with the CA XI side and replace it with an ACT franchise (would be good to see Canberra back in the state comp, like they were in the late '90s). CA XI have only won one game in their 2 seasons, and an ACT franchise would give Canberra (and the territory) the opportunity to develop their own players as well as increase the presence of cricket in the ACT.
- ALL games during the preliminary rounds at the teams' home venues, rather than North Sydney Oval/Hurstville Oval/Drummoyne Oval etc. monopolising the matches.
- If crowd attendances are to be increased, day/night matches to be only played on Friday and Saturday. The Sunday day/night match at North Sydney Oval last week didn't work, with the match finishing at 9:50pm and kids having to go to school the next day. A day fixture would've drawn a larger crowd.
Twiz where are your usual anti GOAT posts?. ..too easy
lucky we were not at full strength
Australia's best ever off spinner doing his thing as per usual
No, he's not. But there's also no one who's massively better. The two best are SOK and Lyon by some margin IMO, and both are really one dimensional. SOK probably has more natural variation, but he does turn it a bit less than Lyon. Neither have a great change up ball....Ashwin for example has his carom ball and a lot of variations of his off breaks, but both SOK and Lyon have an off break and an arm ball and that's pretty much it.
Yes he bowls the available options for a offie who doesn't chuck itNo, he's not. But there's also no one who's massively better. Neither are Haurie.
I remember when Lyon reached 17 tests (same as Haurie)
The stats were errily similar in almost all areas
Maybe Haurie could have been our best ever offie?
Come on mate he's the GOAT!!yeh, one decent Matador Cup game and he is the greatest spinner ever
lol
