With the season one week away thought it was about time someone started the thread.

Whats everyone's thoughts on the season ahead?

For me, its a one horse race. GS is absolutely going to cream the opposition. And they're going to be one hell of a fun team to watch also when doing it.

Othet teams -

Celtics will compete.

NY looks strong now that DRose is done with this off field dramas.

OKC will regress badly.

Wolves will be a sleeper.

Philly will still struggle to win 10 games but should be fun to watch with JoJo. Bummer on Simmons man. Those two together would have been fun to watch.

Everyone else - meh.

Going to be interesting to see if GS are as good as they should be.

NY could be good if healthy, KP looks good.

Westbrook will be insane but OKC will struggle.

My Heat team will not be good so I will live vicariously through the T-Wolves for hope and entertainment.

Agree on Philly.

Spurs will be Spur like.

Have you watched any of the preseason games? GS are unbelievable.

KD is getting open shots. At OKC they use to triple team him. Now, its Dray/Steph/Klay driving to the basket then kicking back to KD for the open 3..... SMH... no one can stop them..

I haven't had a chance to watch much of the preseason. If this was 2K Warriors would go 82-0 and sweep the playoffs.

I expect them to be a great team, I guess all I am saying is that it will be interesting to see if that happens. The sting from losing last season must be huge, 73 wins and no title, I am looking forward to seeing how it plays out.

The Warriors will be interesting to me as a thought experiment and not much more ie. what happens when you add Kevin Durant to a 73 win team. We likely won't see a situation like this again if the new CBA has any sort of sense or logic to it, so it is interesting from that perspective

I'll also be interested when they play teams like the Thunder and Clippers I suppose, just because of the personalities involved. But as for when they play the Pacers on a random Tuesday, that will be about as exciting as watching the US at the Olympics.

Other teams with new looks will be a lot more interesting. Celtics should be good, my Magic are going through a transformation and can hopefully make the playoffs.

I can't see what the Knicks are doing working but I guess we'll see, I just don't rate Noah or even Rose really anymore.

T-Wolves are obviously the fashionable pick to make a bit of noise in the West.

OKC will be good to watch with Westbrook and Oladipo, they don't have enough shooting though and I think it might cost them a playoff spot even if Westbrook goes postal.

Have we started the Draymond groin kick counter or do we have to wait for the regular season?

It was a close miss but yeah, he really needs to see a specialist about those reflexes.

The whole GSW saga has put a dampener on this season for me. They will dominate and it won't even be close. I still don't believe they have solved the issue of inside scoring but they will most likely blow everyone out and it won't be an issue for them. The Spurs could cause a few dramas with a couple of quality big men and their style of play but they are an old team that couldn't keep up over 7 games.

What I'm most looking forward to seeing is how teams who have lost a big name will go this year.

Heat - Will Dragic and Whiteside step up and take over the team?

OKC - How far will they fall? Will Russell Westbrook be a beast for a whole season, will he breakdown from doing too much? (Hopefully not because I took him at no. 1 over Steph.) And how will Oladipo be used?

Lakers - Finally the Kobe show has gone and now they can unleash their young (not Swaggy P) talent.

I'm tipping (like most) that Devin Booker will have a breakout year for my Suns. We have benched Brandon Knight so Booker can start at SG. He was huge for us after the All Star break last year which didn't help our tanking cause.

I thought GS would be boring to watch because the games would be so one sided. In actual fact watching KD, Klay and Curry drain 3's bucket after back is a pretty amazing sight. Kerr is rotating so two of them are on the floor at all times. KD was in paradise the other night with open buckets and playing against the Portland's bench. He was just torching them it was so unfair but fun to watch.

100% they will be one of the most entertaining teams in nba history come the end of regular season.

They were the most entertaining team in history last season. Nothing was more entertaining than watching them win 73 games and then capitulate in June.

Quite a statement from the Spurs, who looked fantastic. Targetted rebounding and the Warriors loose attitude to ball control. Kawhi was great and Aldridge basically did whatever he wanted. A couple of potential Pop classics there in Jonathan Simmons and Kyle Anderson as well, and I'm not sure why David Lee was basically an unwanted man until the Spurs picked him up.

Warriors not great, but they'll obviously be better once they get their chemistry sorted. Durant and Curry were pretty good actually, Thompson and Green looked a bit lost at times. They'll have better shooting nights than that as well.

Cavs were pretty impressive first up, that was an awful looking Knicks team though. Jeez I reckon they have a long season ahead, I don't like what they've done at all.

Oh that was fun watching GSW get ANNIHILATED at home.

Here's hoping they're in for a similar season to the Heat in the first year of the 'big 3'.

There will be definite weaknesses their for a great team/coach to exploit.

Have a look at Anthony Davis box score in a losing team...50 points, 16 rebounds, 7 steals, 5 blocks.

I missed GSW's loss to the Spurs on opening night but am watching their game against the Pelicans this afternoon.
GSW have not played well today, yet looking like winning by 10+ points against a Pelicans side which is playing well (with a freakish Davis as well). They are winning solely on the ridiculous talent of their roster rather than the great team basketball they played last season. They have way too many options to score. When they do click as a unit, my goodness they will be scary.

He signed a 5 year extension for $145 million that just started this season so I don't think he'll be leaving anytime soon.

Anyway, happy with those first 2 results for the Spurs, especially the first!

Westbrook..what a beast

Westbrook 17/44 - got his triple and hit 50 but it wasnt pretty. Some of his shot selections were terrible. OKC have zero shooters on that roster and i dont see them makIng the 8.

Philly and the Suns are easily bottom tier and they barely managed to put them away. I think they'll struggle against the lakers on Monday and lose miserably to the Clips and Warriors after.

If they could have traded for Gay i would have given them a shot. Now i have them bottom half of miserable thanks to K f**king D.
