Hills Bulls have signed Heath L'Estrange and Feleti Mateo

A couple quality signings there - Hills will be looking to move into the top half of the table.

Pat Weisner has been busy at Blacktown, announcing 18 signings so far:

Kyle Eather (Illawarra Cutters), Manaia Rudolph (Wests Tigers), Pat Mataele (Mounties), Charlie Faingaa and Sarafu Fatiaki (Redcliffe Dolphins), Jacob Samoa (Sunshine Coast Falcons), Abraham El Zhakem and Richard Coorey (Auburn Warriors), James Goring and Everett Vaurasi (Windsor), Josiah Tomasi (Wenty), Viliame Kaveinga (NZ Warriors), Haimona Hiroti (South Sydney), Mario El Boustani (Bulldogs), Shane Kiel and Maliko Filino (Penrith), Tom Amone, Amanu Manu and Kelepi Manu (Parramatta).

Some of these guys will join Manly NRL squad members and existing Blacktown players in the NSW Cup but most will end up in RMC/SS.

Chris Yates has been reappointed as RMC coach at Wenty while Simon Greaves will take over from Alex Chan as SS coach. At Belrose, James Mortimer has finished his stint as Belrose coach and is replaced by former teammate Tim Gee, who also coached Peninsula in their first season.

Jack Madden has moved from Wenty to Central Queensland Capras, Alec Bush and Peni Manumalealii from Guildford are training with Newtown as is Ross Mati-Leafi from East Campbelltown SS. Malakai Houma and Kurt Dillon, who have appeared for Cabramatta in 2015 and 2016 are training with the Sharks NRL squad. Shannon Gallant will play another season with Wests Magpies.

Waitara will be playing RMC in 2017.

This is a rebranding exercise. The Asquith Leagues club is located in Waitara and the decision has been taken to rebrand as Waitara Magpies.

That's just the Leagues club the footy team will still be known as Asquith.

He's just posted on Instagram that he's moving on.

This demonstrates the problem for clubs at this level - Wests announce weeks ago that Gallant has agreed to terms for 2017 and now he is apparently going to another club - Is it Group 6? The same thing happened with Jake Mullaney last year.

Blacktown Workers will certainly have cover if the same thing happens to them. Last year Heka Nanai and Pierce Sapsford signed over summer and never made an appearance while Luke Simpson scored a stack of tries in some trials and then departed.

Workers have signed another 8 new players taking the total of new players to 26:

Kurt Aldridge (Newcastle), Nick Kassis (Wenty), Brendan Attwood (Penrith), Andy Fiagatusa (Wests Tigers/Magpies), Sione Masima (Limoux, France), Will Solway (Auburn Warriors), John Tohi (Wests Tigers), Chris Anese Scanlon (St Marys).

I have heard that Gallant has retired

Moorebank will be part of the Sydney Shield in 2017. All of the players not selected in the Bulldogs NYC team will play for Moorebank, who presumably will be coached by Brad Morrin, a Moorebank junior.

This means it is possible that Auburn will only be in RMC as 21 players appeared in both the Bulldogs NYC and the Auburn Sydney Shield team in 2016.

Mounties have signed an agreement that will see players that are not required for Sydney Shield being made available to play with A Grade with Emu Plains in the Penrith JRL. This adds to the 2 existing arrangements where St Marys send players to Mt Druitt and Cabra sends players to CVD Cobras. I have also heard a rumour that Blacktown will have a similar arrangement with Minchinbury Jets.
