All Division Teams

This was something I was thinking about in another thread.... I thought it might be a fun thing to have during this offseason period...

How about going about seeing the all division teams...

A team made up of the best players in your division...

I haven't thought too much about it at this stage... but we can just make it a free-for-all or we can put stipulations that you have to have a minimum amount of guys from each team...

Thoughts...

QB: Romo. Yeah that's right. I dont for one second believe Dak is better than Wentz. So he wasnt getting the start anyways. You switch them and i think Wentz is in the SB as a rookie given where Dak is. I concede im probably being too harsh on Cousins who strangely maybe the right answer? But i dont trust him at all in the clutch. Eli looked cooked this year. Wasnt a consideration. I think Romo is actually probably #1 tbh. Wentz would legitimately be my #2 pick.

RB: Zek Elliott: Not even close, no other RB in the division is worth a pinch of shit imo.

WR: OBJ, Dez, Crowder (Slot): Another easy one, OBJ and Dez are easily the best in the division, and Crowder was electric out of the slot this year. That's as good as any division can throw up IMO.

TE: Reed: When healthy he is pretty much uncoverable. He's got it all as a TE and the only downside is his injury history and in particular concussions.

OL: Tyron Smith, Zach Martin, Travis Frederick, Brandon Brooks, Lane Johnson: Trent Williams almost made the team at RT over Johnson but i do think they are specialist positions now days and Johnson is maybe the best in the league. I could have put Lael Collins at LG and Martin at RG, but i feel they are less specialised and just went with the two best Guards, Martin being the clear #1 and Brooks be the next best. Frederick was an easy choice at center, as was Smith at LT.

Going to go with a 4-3 since that's the scheme of the division
DE: Oliver Vernon,Graham: Very tough call. Very tough. JPP could easily displace either of those two, but i feel like those two offer both a strong present in the run game, and the ability to get sacks. JPP is not much of a sack guy anymore. If someone wants to say im a homer here, ill wear that.
DT: Cox, Harrison: This gives the team two run stuffing beasts and Cox has the ability to create an interior pass rush. The bold move here would be to slot JPP as an interior DLmen, but i cant do that and cheat Snacks out of his job

SLB: Nigel Bradham: Quietly an excellent season from him but it's not the strongest field to be honest. And i feel like Jaylon Smith could easily take this spot
MLB: Jordan Hicks: This guy is already one of the best MIKE linebackers in the entire league. He's an absolute stud and probably the best thing of the chip kelly era.
WLB: Sean Lee: He is outrageously good when healthy. Can cover, great instincts, good ball skills. He's got it all as a WILL.

CB: Jenkins and Norman: I laughed a lot when these franchises blew the budget on these corners, FA corners almost never seem to pan out, but those two were lights out all year. Norman less so but he was still a cut above the rest. Again not a strong field but this is a pretty formidable duo

SS: Landon Collins: the back end of the NFCE isnt great. But Landon Collins was a worthy DPOTY candidate this year. He was absolutely ridiculous. Rodney McLoud was good too and beyond him it was straight trash

FS: Malcom Jenkins: This was a tougher than you'd expect. I think Byron Jones had a really good year, I think Darian Thompson was pretty good too, but Malcom Jenkins was just a touch better.

Team Summary

Romo (DAL), Elliott (DAL), Beckham Jr (NYG), Bryant (DAL),Croweder (WAS), Reed (WAS)
Smith (DAL), Martin (DAL), Frederick (DAL), Brooks (PHI), Johnson (PHI)

Vernon (NYG), Cox (PHI), Harrison (NYG), Graham (PHI)
Bradham (PHI), Hicks (PHI), Lee (DAL)
Jenkins (NYG), Collins (NYG), Jenkins (PHI), Norman (WAS)

AFC WEST:

QB: Phillip Rivers - Was tempted to go with Carr but I think he still has some substantial growing to do at the position. Rivers has been there and done that... but he also still has the arm talent to go with that experience. Check-down Alex was never seriously in consideration as hes solid... but he ain't winning you any games.

RB: Melvin Gordon - Seriously probably the weakest position group in the entire division. I was considering Latavius Murray but I went with Gordon as he has a higher ceiling. CJ Anderson was another guy for consideration but it seems like I have seen him since SB50.

WR: Amari Cooper, Demarius Thomas & Tyreek Hill - Crabtree and Sanders probably a bit unlucky. But I think Cooper and Thomas are the best 2 receivers in the division. Hill is a dynamic playmaker.

TE: Travis Kelce - Pretty easy one here. The Chargers pair Antonio Gates and Hunter Henry were probably the only other options.

OL: Donald Penn(LT), Kelechi Osemele(LG), Rodney Hudson(C), Gabe Jackson(RG), Mitchell Schwartz(RT) - The pro bowl left side including Hudson was an easy choice. Jackson is criminally underrated also. Schwartz is probably the best RT in the division.

Will think about the defense...

You can't be serious!

While I have no doubt he can still play at a high level Romo attempted just four passed this past season. Based on how we saw Prescott perform this season and his stats it has to be him.

Wentz may end up the better QB in the future, but in 2016 Prescott was better

I am completely serious
Prescott played well enough as a rookie to win the job, this is a salary cap league after all and everyone wants the young cheap qb

But I don't doubt for one second fully healthy the best qb in ththe division this year is Romo

Pretty much what I was thinking Carr, Sanders & maybe Charles if healthy would be the only other ones I would consider

For D Id go

DE: Khalil Mack & Derek Wolfe & Joey Bosa
DT: Dontari Poe
OLB: Von Miller & Justin Houston & Shane Ray
MLB: Brandon Marshall & Malcolm Smith
CB: Chris Harris & Aqib Talib & Marcus Peters
S: Eric Berry & TJ Ward & Darian Stewart

Yup that looks about right to me... maybe Denzel Perryman instead of Malcolm Smith and Bruce Irvin for Shane Ray.

I'm biased... but I think that AFC West team would be almost unbeatable...

Even special teams... if we throw in Seabass and Marquette King... you have Tyreek Hill doubling up as the return man...

The AFC W team is pretty bloody good, that D is off the charts. Imagine that pass rush with Bosa, Mack and Von up against the NFC E OL, haha. Even if you blocked them up, i dont know how you pass on those DBs
