Crossfit is a fad that will die out. Lift for strength, run/swim for cardio.

Which bits are crossfit, except the imbecile doing a deadlift that was way to heavy?

You keep doing your rich piana workouts

LOL

I am not a fan of that roid monkey, I'm a natty old school lifter. This crossfit fad can cause serious injury. I know you guys are a cult, so it's pointless debating with you here. :)

Not a fan of rich, yet you post a pic Calum von monger.

They draw from the same vial.

I've been a bodybuilder, I know heaps of them. In the end I couldn't walk around at 100kg and I couldn't maintain the food intake. So I started something different.

I started this thread for those who are involved in crossfit, not for people like you to come in and start bagging it based on some YouTube clips.

You do what you do, I'll do what I do.

Well I would rather steer people away from crossfit as it is bullshit and can cause serious injury. The fad will be over soon.

I've been injured playing footy, broke my ankle going for a run once, tore my groin playing touch, got horrible shoulder r.o.m. from lifting heavy and probably overdoing chest workouts, never been injured doing Crossfit or Crossfit style strength and conditioning/Olympic lifting in 3 years. Haters be haters. I'm fitter than ever, stronger than ever, have greater mobility, better cardio, etc. Serious injury, sure. There are dodgy coaches out there but there are just as many serious injuries in conventional gyms/weightlifting/bodybuilding, other sports and recreational activities. I don't get the hate, but then again I don't care either.

I started Crossfit 3 years ago and haven't looked back. The stigma is amazing and I find it quite amusing, at the end of the day you can get injured doing any physical activity if you're not using correct form, stretching, etc. There's plenty of fail compilation videos of guys at the gym yet that doesn't seem to cause any stigma for the weight lifters.

I enjoy the workouts, the group atmosphere and I'm definitely fitter than I've ever been

definitely pros & cons of crossfit. If you were out of shape and can only squeeze an hour in 2 times a week and still wanted to smashed off some kgs then crossfit would be good for them. But if you were training for a specific sport, a bodybuilder etc then it probably isn't the best.

Only real problem I have is the previous interactions I've had with crossfitters in the past. Not going to blanket comment about all but essentially they are the vegans of the exercise world. You don't need to ask them if they do it or not, they will tell you.....more than once.

Bigger problem is idiots trying to incorporate crossfit methods into their gym routines. Every exercise has to have something added to it to complicate that usually does nothing and increases the chances of hurting themselves.

I don't do cross fit, but I do HIIT classes which are similar

I enjoy the fact you can get fit and socialise at the same time
I keep my weight in the ideal range and I have some muscle tone
I have been exercising 4 or 5 days a week for 6 years

On the downside my right shoulder is wrecked, my Achilles ache and my lower back hurts
I think I need a few months off!
