Why not? The only reason not to is financial. Will we ever get to a point where a club can value their identity more than the mighty dollar?

Obviously not the most sensible matchup but Newcastle has so much red that it was easy to distinguish.

The point is to contrast surely - if you're streaming that game on a handheld device it's near impossible to tell them apart from long shots. When there's an obvious alternative, last night's choices were poor.

canterbury home with white shorts and socks (i know it's not in their strip collection, but it would be handy vs several teams) would've been the obvious strip choice. nah, we'll take the whole blue kit up the m1 instead.

Whoever signed off on allowing Newcastle and Bulldogs to play in these jumpers tonight needs to be fired

Do the NRL have anyone in power making these decisions or do the clubs just wear whatever they want these days. My local pub comp manages this, but a sport with a billion dollar TV deal, its beyond them.
