Not a regular follower of the 20's ....so am very surprised to see the Warriors down at the bottom of the table.

NYC is gone after this year. Doesn't really say anything for the Warriors or NZ.

In the early years of NYC we were concerned about winning and that really didn't help us at all. We changed things 2-3 years back where we push all our best prospects up to NSW Cup and use NYC as a way to blood 17-18 year olds and attempt to fast track them to the next level by putting them up against a higher standard of opposition.

I would argue that our 6 wins and 1 draw from our first 7 ISP games is a better indication of our altered pathways than our NYC team filled with 17-18 year olds, most of them in their first year of half decent level competition (Warriors have no SG/Flegg etc to help prepare them beforehand)

Ok ...I can run with that !

Shame NZ can't replicate the 18's / 20's models in place in Qld where most of the state is covered.

Most clubs who had success with their U 20's usually go on to have healthy playing squads in the NRL.

Unfortunatly the Warriors ranks were picked apart by rival clubs before they could really establish a core group. They would have had a NRL squad that should have by now had at least one title.

We weren't picked a part. There were combinations of injury, poor choices, poor development etc that resulted in this scenario but we didn't lose anyone we were desperate to keep.

Plus the reason we won NYC back then was because we creating first graders wasn't a priority and a lot of the players we had dominating NYC were never going to make good first graders.
