The V is good
The Kokoda Map is tacky

Like the map. Reminds me of a certain design that ISC could not produce due to fine detail...

Haha, didn't even think of that connection. I liked your jersey and thought the map was a nice touch.

My issue with this is more to do with the ANZAC day commercialisation. I like the "red poppy" vee and if I had my way we would wear it yearly with Roosters wearing their sky blue jersey. Never change.

I feel the map has been added in this case as a point of difference to last year's jersey to bump up sales

I prefer last year's poppy V. It was less cartoonish.

The map of Kokoda is there to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Kokoda campaign.

I posted this in the Jubilee Ave discussion on our ANZAC jersey but thought I'd post it here too FWIW

Top left: the original. To be fair this was our first ever subliminated new design jersey. We still had cotton home jerseys and polyester blood+bandages away. So I can somewhat understand the appeal of trying something different. It's terrible but I have a soft spot for it.

Top right: the next jersey. Terrible. The only thing that saves it is the Mat Head heroics on the day

Bottom left: the camo side panels. The Roosters had been doing camo jerseys for awhile. Until this we had at least stayed away it. At least we didn't go full camo.

Bottom right: We went full camo.

Top left: the infamous golden pubes!

Top right: Perfection. Home jersey with RSL badge and commemorative text under the logo. Nailed it

Bottom left. Oh boy. Nothing says respect like silhouettes of soldiers on your abdomen. Who thinks of this?

Bottom right: fantastic. Subtle, iconic. No need to change. (Spoiler alert. We bedazzled this design to pimp our profits / show respect)

Hahaha, i only just realised that triple V (2002, i think) is meant to be sergeant stripes....

Edit: just seeing those old jerseys, im so f*cking happy we got rid of that old telstra logo. the new green and gold chevrons is a million times better...

I laugh every time I see the Ben Hornby one as I remember they had a typo on the original text. It originally said Alliance Stadium, not Allianz Stadium. hence that's why they had to add the green box.

The club owns the design and not ISC. ISC would have no say in it at all.
Manufacturers will often chime in because of technical limitations, like fine detail.

The club gave two reasons for not using the map - one was the fine detail and the other was the map not representing all of the Raiders' fanbase. I'd say the first reason was from ISC and the second from the club, possibly to justify the first.

Pretty stupid reason given by the club then. Better remove the word "Canberra" from the badge and take away the ACT colours from the jersey as they both represent only a proportion of the fan base.

Might have had something to do with the club tying in the old players that round as well.

I was pretty disappointed when I found out about the changes but it was written into the rules and therefore fair game.

Then why didn't they just make this guy on the left the winner. There would have been less changes to make to it than the changes they made to yours.
