Confirmed Signings

What?

June 30 is the deadline for mid season transfers. It's completely irrelevant to signing players for next season.

Technically 30 June is the deadline for player registrations for the current season. No one can be registered after 30 June for the current season. Has the same effect though.

It does not mean clubs and players cannot sign contracts for 2018 and beyond as there are still a number of players off contract and un-signed for next season.

Manu Vatuvei off to Salford. Great great career.

Seemed like the writing had been on the wall a while. If healthy Manu should kill it over there for a few years, good on him.

Always a fan of The Beast. Provided so many memorable moments to fans across his career, some very good, some very bad but always memorable.

Without giving it much thought I'd have him up there with Stacey and Mannering for Warriors best.

took him awhile to shake off "that night" and no matter how many awesome takes he took off kicks to his wing to score he would still have hands life feet to many.

Only player in history to score at least 10 tries for 10 straight seasons isn't he?

That's correct. Iirc he has 152 tries in 226 first grade games and a load of tries for the Kiwis as well. Often in pretty ordinary teams though in fairness he was a pivotal part of the Cleary era.

On top of that he would regularly top 150m, always causing havoc on that first hit up of a set.

I recall him having matches against Aku Uate when he was at his peak and they dubbed it the worlds best wingers one on one. Manu regularly came out on top. When you consider longevity, Manu easily outlasted a great many number of so called best wingers in the game.

Congratulations Manu, right up there with Mannering and Stacey as our best ever.
