NSW going forward

Dugan, Morris and Ferguson have to go, and Tommy T and Mansour replace them

Woods out, Vaughan in
Paulo to partner Vaughan in the front row
Fifita back to bench, Jake T starting at 13.
Josh Jackson stuffed in a rocket and fired into the f**king sun
Friz to the edges

So something in the realm of:

1. Tedesco
2. Tom T
3. Bird
4. Hayne
5. Mansour
6. Maloney
7. Cleary
8. Vaughan
9. Peats/Wallace
10. Paulo
11. Cordner (c)
12. Frizzel
13. Jake T

14. Wallace/Peachey/Moylan
15. Fifita
16. Klemmer
17. Graham

Obviously come 2020 the blues won't need to worry too much, by then the great one Nick Cotric will be ready and they can just build a dynasty around him

Finally a Raiders juinor that I agree with all the hype.

Good pack you picked too, shits on what Loz picked

Looks good...
But to add to that
Hayne must go.
Agree Fatfita to bench
Jake T to start
Peats must go..we need someone who runs from dummy half...Maybe Cook?
They better not pick Junior Junior puss again or there will be a riot.

Just tell Peats he's allowed to run or play Api there. He's going good and can run/pass well.

They'll carve Paulo up around the ruck. He'll be another 15kg heavier next year.

firstly there is no reason to think he'll be heavier, in fact he's lighter this year than he was last. If anything i would expect that trend to continue

re: carving him up around the ruck, that's an issue for NSW and Canberra for the same reason. They both have two BIGs on at the same time. Paulo and Boyd get carved up and Woods and Fifita get carved up around the middle. You mitigate that considerably by pairing him with an incredibly mobile and very good lateral defender like Vaughan.

You've got 5 middles (4 front rowers and a lock) and need to fill 240 minutes of game time
Assuming you stay injury free, you have Jakey T giving you 80 superb minutes at #13. Vaughan and Klemmer can give you 50 quality minutes each. Which leaves Paulo and Fifita splitting 60 between them. That should keep them both fresh enough and playing with other middles who are very stout, so you shouldnt expect them to be found out being lazy.

I mean im all for other options but Sharon Woods is f**king DONE as far im concerned. And Boyd has been suggested a few times here but he isnt at Paulo's level. I dunno where else you go? Ryan James? No thanks, flat track bully imo. Campbell-Gillard and Jordan McLean might be the right answers. But you've got to have balance IMO. So it's got to be a bigger enforcer type to pair with Vaughan (or an impact player to replace Fifita if you want to pair Fifita with Vaughan)

Curious at a Raiders fan with no love for Shannon Boyd. He's your standout big bopper for mine (it was Vaughan, thanks once again for him).

Also I think Cotric will be ready before 2020. Possibly even next year, assuming we're not dumb enough to pick Pearce again and leave our outside backs on a hiding to nothing.

Boyd has been horrendous for the most part of this year
His last month has been OK, but before that he was absolute piss

At his best, for sure he's in the calculations for a NSW spot but he's been well off that in 2017. Paulo on the other hand has been the only reliable forward in the Raiders pack outside of Papalii

He rumbled for another 170+ last night

He's well ahead of Boyd right now if we're being honest
But I'm not married to Paulo being in the team but I do think the nsw team needs someone like him. Maybe it's Klemmer and Fifita, and Vaughan and McLean are the work horses?

Couldn't agree more. This is why the likes of Tedesco aren't worth $1m. They will score your points for you when you are already winning, but if you are losing, there's nothing they can do.

Sounds like bullshit to me but you'd hope they've learnt something from the Pearce saga. He's too young.

You'd also think they'd have learnt something from the practice of proclaiming someone as the saviour after one good game.

Give Cleary another year in FG, atm we have a perfectly good player to partner Maloney in Matt Moylan.

Atleast most of our teams are looking pretty similar. For me there's only 3 real positions that are unclear - left centre and 2 bench positions.

1. James Tedesco
2. Josh Mansour
3.
4. Jack Bird
5. Tom Trbojevic
6. Matt Moylan
7. James Maloney
8. David Klemmer
9. Nathan Peats
10. Andrew Fifita
11. Boyd Cordner
12. Tyson Frizell
13. Jake Trbojevic

14. Wade Graham
15. Paul Vaughan
16.
17.

Left centre could be filled in by most likely Michael Jennings or Latrell Mitchell if he continues to improve.

I'd like to have a utility like Jack Bird to replace him on the bench. Maybe someone like Tyrone Peachey, Blake Austin or Clint Gutherson.

Last bench spot I'd give to a prop - Junior Paulo, Shannon Boyd, Nathan Brown etc are all good contenders and will largely come down to form.

Old Panther, I was sure that Wighton was a winger who moved to fullback.
I looked it up, his NRL debut was on the wing, he played City/Country in the centres and Ricky Stuart has played him at 5/8 for the Raiders, the way NSW picks the team he will end up getting a go at 7 !!!

Had not thought of him as a utility though.

Yeah I figured you were counting what position players have played most/have specialised in. I do think we have multiple wingers and fullbacks ahead of him regardless.

Had some more time to think...

1. James Tedesco (100% has to be there if fit. Best fullback and will hopefully learn more and earn more confidence with the Roosters)

2. Josh Mansour/Tom Trbojevic (Mansour runs hard and gains big metres, Tom T is more capable of miracle plays. A good problem to have in a position that we struggled with this year)

3. Jarryd Hayne (Would give him another run here but coach needs to tell him that it's his last chance and if he doesn't offer more then that's probably his NSW career done. Hayne needs to lift big time next year)

4. Josh Dugan (I think he was one of our best on Wednesday. Good defender, gets good metres and is decent in attack)

5. James Roberts/Tom T (Just to note, Ferguson would probably be my last option. If Tom T can play on the right it should be him. If Tom T is useless on the right then I think James Roberts would be the right call. We need a solid defender out there and Ferguson isn't that. Holmes had a field day down that edge with Ferguson left grabbing at jumpers and missing tackles. It can't happen again next year)

6. Matt Moylan (New South Wales need to get away from trying to win games by not scoring points and being strong in defence. Moylan is an okay defender but offers so much in attack. An edge with Moylan, Cordner, Hayne and Mansour has the potential to be absolutely dynamite if Moylan is on song)

7. James Maloney (He is NSW's best half and is most likely going to play for Australia in the World Cup this year if Thurston is out. He plays the organising role allowing Moylan to run and be creative on the other side)

8. Shannon Boyd (Is a regular for Australia, very surprised he wasn't on the bench this year for New South Wales. At 122 kilograms he's a huge guy. If he just tackles and runs hard he will trouble Queensland)

9. Damien Cook (I like Peats but as others have pointed out he's better defensively and we don't need that. Cook has points in him and is a decent enough defender.)

10. Andrew Fifita (Same deal as Hayne, either he really stands up next series or is dropped. We need more performances like Game 1 and less like 2 and 3. Even the announcers pointed out how little he cared in the lead up to one of QLD's final tries. Needs to lift)

11. Boyd Cordner (C) (Needless to say as captain he makes it and rightfully so. Best second rower we have)

12. Tyson Frizell (Didn't do anything not to be selected next series. Makes good metres and does everything he needs to. Jackson is a solid player but too defensively minded and we need to get away from that)

13. Jack De Belin (18th man this year for a reason. Good player, makes good metres and has a good offload. He should be picked next year and probably remain there for awhile)

14. Paul Vaughan (Runs for over 200 metres semi regularly and we really needed that this series. Another guy who should have been picked this year but was oddly left out)

15. David Klemmer (One of our best in game 3 and his go forward is something NSW needs)

16. Jake Trobjevic (Did nothing wrong all series and can cover any spot in the forwards. Should be there next series and for the foreseeable future)

17. Tyrone Peachey (Can play second row, centre, five eighth, lock and probably wouldn't be horrible at hooker either. Jack Bird isn't getting the job done as utility so Peachey gets a run)

Coach: Craig Bellamy (Need a new coach. Bellamy knows the game of the likely QLD spine and has been one of the best coaches over the past 10+ years. Make him an offer he won't refuse)

---

Now just for fun, here is what I think Daley will go with next year.

1. Tedesco 2. Tom T 3. Hayne 4. Dugan 5. Ferguson 6. James Maloney 7. Mitchell Pearce 8. Aaron Woods 9. Peats 10. Andrew Fifita 11. Boyd Cordner (C) 12. Tyson Frizell 13. Josh Jackson 14. David Klemmer 15. Jake T 16. Wade Graham 17. Matt Moylan

Of course he will put losing down to "Losing our way" and promise to come back bigger and stronger next year.

I love the first team. Particularly the idea that we want to score points. JDB/JTurbo feeding Teddy offloads is a delicious thought.

That second team makes me sad and it's the likely direction they go in.

I don't get the age thing with Cleary, Thurston was like 21 or 22 when he started for Qld, not much older.
Pearce never had it, had they persevered with Mullen he could have turned out completely different.

Something is off with NSW management if they are fearful of ruining a player by placing them in the team.

These guys prepare for this from the time of their teens at least. Pretty sure he can handle a faster game of footy.

Nothing is going to change with that mob unless someone comes in a tears the place down, tells the players how it is going to be and instils some mongrel and brains in them. Tell them they no longer get their 30K losers fee as well. f**k the resort style living off. f**k the casino off. Piss the 10 day camps off. None of that has worked for over a decade.

Seriously, Boyd Cordner is captain. FFS.

You aren't going to get any mongrel in the team when Cordner is captain. He is way too quiet and nice.
