Didn't you also say it was sold out ?
so where were the 1250 people who paid for tickets that would have got it to capacity ?

It should have got to what ever the grounds capacity is considering it was the cowboys playing & the glorious day up there , if that game couldn't get to 12500 , then no game will.
Are you this hard on the Raiders crowds?

Are you this hard on the Raiders crowds?

you're comparing a place that has had 500 top line League games played to a place that has had ...5
& we play in temps of -2 in sleet & snow , it was 24 there on Sunday sun shining brightly

the crowd was a tad disappointing in Cairns
nothing to crow about

Ah the good ol sleet and snow argument. Was it that bad on friday night? Surely the fans are used to the weather by now?

I mean theres not much to do in canberra on a friday night is there? Besides getting some crinkly chips at kingsleys and doing laps of belconnen. Actually thats probably more appealing than watching the faders

Broncos v bulldogs 28K
Roosters v Knights 13K
Sharks v Souths 15K
Penrith V Titans 13K
Raiders v Storm 16K
Cowboys v Warriors 16K
Dragons v Manly 15K
Tigers V Parramatta 22K

It's a good chance the average crowds this week could be 17K+

Wasn't the crowd watch thread a designated 'troll free' thread in previous years? It's been quite difficult finding crowd figures here this year.

This. Can we have the arguments moved to a specific thread and leave this as a purely numbers thread?

So you want numbers and no discussion, that will be interesting! You can get just the numbers from numerous other sites if that's all your interested in, there is usually a weekly round up of numbers on a Sunday night here if you time it right.

Well at least we're not as unappealing as your lot
Apparently watching the defending premiers has no appeal either lol

Origin tickets for Game 1 2018 at the MCG go on sale tomorrow (based off an ad I just read on the train)

Be interesting to see what sales they get pre Xmas.

As an aside the RLWC is being fairly heavily promoted on TV in Melbourne.

well below a lot of predictions though , maybe they were a bit ambitious
but still the word good is being thrown around a bit loosely
its just acceptable id think.

Thursdays are the silliest of the silly time slots for the NRL
& 9 not starting them til 8pm is killing crowds

roll on the NRL taking control of the draw next year & this game is on a sat night or sunday arvo in front of 35000

big hit!

wasn't the first canterbury vs brisbane match this season on thursday night too? i specifically remember it because the Broncos wore their away kit which had them looking similar to Canterbury. i seriously would prefer watching newcastle vs wests than watch the same two teams play twice in a season

You watch it be on a Thursday or Friday night again.

I just have no faith in the "NRL controlled draw". They will still pander to TV.

It will be interesting to see the type of 'control' exerted by NRL management on the draw next year.

They need to show a bit of fortitude and demonstrate that the strength of the competition especially in NSW and QLD should mean they have more influence than currently being exerted. If NRL HQ can ensure better scheduling, it will no doubt create more interest via crowd numbers and TV engagement from both a ratings and sponsorship level. If the game itself is more attractive via a reasonable mix of prime time viewing and crowd attendance attraction, then that should translate to consistent growth in stakeholder interest from the punter standing on the hill to the white collars handing over millions in sponsorship and TV deals.

Pandering to one of these excessively has shown to be to negatively impact others. The balance is currently not right but the opportunity is there to make a positive change. How the draw will be presented will give a good indication on the level of control the heads of the NRL really have.

Anyone with a PlayNRL rewards code gets an extra ticket to the Tigers v Eels match this week.

To celebrate Harvey Norman Women in League Round the NRL are pleased to offer Junior League players and volunteers up to TWO PlayNRL Rewards tickets for this upcoming round (subject to availability). This offer does not apply to School Clinic participants.

To redeem two tickets, you need to enter your NORMAL PASSWORD (found at the end of this email) and BONUS PASSWORD which is simply your normal password with “WIL” on the end.

(e.g. NORMAL PASSWORD = tbf32wx, BONUS PASSWORD= tbf32wxWIL)

I think it's fta tv that will lose a lot o their control & influence to dictate to sports , the medium itself is dying as people move to other platforms for their entertainment, revenue will decrease & so this will be the last of the big buck deals most sports will receive because stations won't be able to afford it. So the NRL essentially do what they want within contract guidlines with few consequences for the next deal , they know the big fta money won't be there anyway in 2022
