Yep, it's a long list.
MacDonald, for his general lazy attitude.
Lafai in the later part of the year.
McCrone all year.

For god sake Bennet dropped our $1.2 million player and look at the effect it had on his later part of the year.
Your talking a million dollar coach with superstars in his team compared to a coach on 300k a year with nobody's

6 from 1, everyone here was praising Mary, hail Mary. Who would of thought blah blah, injury of widdop turned our season around, Mary had the boys on fire. Did u guys forget that. Our defence was top notch, our attack was the best in the competition. I say he did well with all the criticism he had under him. And I think next year is going to be a big year and I can't wait

That's the point we are all trying to make.
The start was brilliant, then the cracks started to appear and there wasn't even an attempt to paper over them, it just was the same players and tactics week after week that no longer worked.

The mental preparation was never addressed so they kept losing to teams who we should have beaten easily, players all knew they were safe, no one ever got dropped for a bad game.
McCrones kicking was diabolical all year, yet the next week there was still taking kicks, no instructions for Widdop to take charge on the 5th tackle, McCrone still there the next week.

It was failure after failure with no changes ever made.

I don't think you know anything to be honest, just good at sitting behind your computer and typing crap and pointing fingers, yeah he f**ked up a few times with players and all, he was frustrated. He can only teach a player how to play. But it's up to the player to make calls on the feild, it's human instinct. Okay we didn't finish in top 8, but let's not forget we were riden to take the wooden spoon, we started 6 from 1, with Josh bloody mcrone, imagine widdop didn't get injured and if we had Ben hunt playing instead of mccrone. Who knows what this season would of ended up like. Josh Dugan ended up poising the team, and that is the truth, that's something ghat players where saying and we're not happy with. We will see how next year unfolds, I'm sure we're a top 4 team. I'll come back to this post and say I told you so.
Sure, kid. When you come back to this post, please fix the grammar and spelling too

Hang on... I thought Dugan was the reason du jour for our failure?? I'm confused now. You're saying it was actually Widdop's injury. You mean to tell me the THREE WHOLE GAMES Widdop missed caused our season to fall apart? Paul McGregor really has quite some imagination if these are the excuses he's able to convince his minions to spout for him. I wonder if, in McGregor's vivid imagination, he can explain how the North Queensland Cowboys managed an entire season without their two best players but still managed to make and win a finals game? That's 1 more finals victory than McGregor has managed in his entire glittering career to date.

I'm willing to wait for Mary's answer on that one

Yeah he did effect the team. When talk he was leaving and When his negotiations where on the table, all that crap going on at the time. And the widdop injury leading up to that didn't help the teams performance. Mate, the coach can teach and have a game lain, but If the team does not show up, then that's there own fault. They didn't want to play and you could see that, could you not?

Give it up.

You say Dugan was poison(and I am not sticking up for him) and then proceed to say the players did not put in(or words to that effect). That would mean - collectively the players don't respect what the coach has to say, should be dropped for poor attitude or both.

As for teaching the players and game plan I will say again that the players themselves don't select the bench nor manage the rotation during a game. The players don't instruct Nene to fly in off his wing in defence or Lafai to pop a miracle ball.

If the premise of your post was that Dugan had a poor attitude(and they may well be the case)then you should have just left it there because your subsequent posts make very little sense.

If Dugan was the toxic poison you say he is and the playing group hated him and he made the coach and captains job difficult all the more reason to sack the coach
We should be praising Dugan for highlighting the week arsed people running the joint
I've never heard such a pathetic explanation of why we yet again failed
You need someone strong to weed out the weaklings so stop bagging Duges and get on the "sack the coaching staff bus"
Maybe that's the real reason Duges missed the bus because he didn't want to sit next to dribblers and soft cocks?

Nah because the dog had a late night bender and was late, 2 weeks in a row. Great player he is. McGregor will be good next year, u can beat on that. He isn't going anywhere so forget the new coach thread

You are correct he is going nowhere and neither are we.
We are wedded to an impotent adolescent coach who couldn't bar up even with viagra.
By the way no doubt you are just a former poster re invented under another name using all the same old methodologies to ramp up support for the club and the coach.
You have no idea about anything if you truly believe Mc Fookknuckle will ever be any good let alone next year and if by chance you are a troll just looking for some fun be careful you don't bruise your knuckles under the desk while you jerk off.

We are a top 4 team, with a bottom of the table coach.

Say for argument sake Dugan has been a bad influence. Wouldn't a strong coach drop him? Especially after he signed with the Wobegongs?
After our start to the season there is no way we should have missed the top 4 let alone the 8.When the side was in freefall changes should have been made to freshen up the players & put them on notice. As stated elsewhere Bennett sent Hunt back to reserves to sharpen him up & Robinson did the same with Mitchell.Griffin hooked Merrin the other night near the end for a very poor pass which put his side under pressure. You could even go back to last season when Flannagan dropped Townsend 2 weeks out from the semis to wake him up.Our bloke just rewards them week after week.

Agreed he let poor performances go unchecked, yet was quick to drop Mann or Host. It's all academic now anyway ..

It true that dugan attitude especially in the last few months pissed of all the player especially some of the senior players.
But mary being unable to pick the correct players in correct positions and not dropping players when they sould have been dropped.
Also complet incompetence in his usage of the bench was the main reasons for us not doing as well as we sould.
Mary is not a nrl quality coach thats is the problem.
