The Founder - The story about the commercialisation/expansion of McDonalds by Ray Kroc, played by Michael Keaton. A really enjoyable flick that is well acted by all the main characters especially Keaton who continues to keep me entertained long after his role in Johnny Dangerously.
Cork sucker and ice hole immediately come to mind.

Blade Runner 2049- In the age of Transformers and boring superhero movies dominating the box office I'm loathe to criticise a movie which actually tries to tell a story, but it didn't live up to the original for mine. B-

Best movie I've seen in a while. Really powerful and sliding doors style movie. Can't believe I'd missed it up until today lol
The premise of casual racism really stands out(obviously it’s the central theme). How it’s woven into the storyline in everyday situations makes it so powerful and real.

I scored a whole heap of old, mint DVDs for a $1 each.

Wildcats (Goldie Hawn)
The Replacements (Keanu Reeves)
Stakeout
Young Guns
National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon 1.

All great to watch because I only paid a $1.

To watch:
Pale Rider

On telly recently watched The Last Castle and Escape From Alcatraz. And a childhood fave - The Delta Force.

On DVD watched Murder By Decree [ Sherlock Holmes meets Jack The Ripper from 1978 - basically an earlier version of From Hell (Depp) ] and Best Defence (meh)

Also borrowed Logan from the local library, so I'm gonna settle in and watch that.

For something different, also watched The Freemaker Chronicles with the kids. Lego, meets extended Star Wars universe between ESB and ROTJ. Absolutely worth it.

A lot of people would roll their eyes and ignore watching "The Delta Force" because it has Chuck Norris in it. But, it is truly an underrated gem. The first half of the movie with the hijacking of the plane was very tense and well acted.

The movie was made in a very intelligent way with the producers not giving Chuck that much to do. What he did do, he actually pulled off his role very well. Very underrated movie.....love the Chuck fight scene too. If you have not seen it, get it out at your video store....you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Passengers 8/10 - I enjoyed this more than I thought I would after critics tore it apart and not being a Pratt or JLaw fan. But both were fine,

JLaw was a little better than fine.
The big dilemma was would an ordinary dude give up everything to hit that and nothing but that until things got so bad you had to go wake someone else up.

I found passengers thoroughly enjoyable. Must be the stalker in me. Haha! The effects were some of the best I've ever seen. If I were Chris Pratt, I would have woken JLaw up for sure. Seems that obsession may have spilled over into real life. Can't say I blame him. I'd take Haley Bennett as well. A true JLaw doppleganger if ever there was one.

Loved Delta Force and the hijacking was based on a real event (TWA Flight 847). Robert Forster played the baddie. Did a good job too! With Chuck, this is a less is more film for him. Still, a great yarn

Watched Geostorm and the snowman. Hard to pick which was worse. Probably the Snowman. People in Sweden speaking English with an English accent. A very good cast couldn't save this stinker! I'm a big fan of Fassbender, Rebecca Ferguson and J.K Simmons but that wasn't enough unfortunately.

Val Kilmer is a flat our weird merkin these days.

After hearing all this feedback on Geostorm, I'm glad I let the wife choose The Mountain Between Us for date night instead of listening to me.

How was Gerard Butler in it? Let down by a shit movie or contributed to it?

Snowman is also a pretty decent book as well, so a massive letdown.

I'd been looking forward to this but won't bother.

A Dangerous Life - Recently found this doco/drama in its entirety on you tube. About the assassination of Ninoy Aquino and the rise to power of his wife to continue his legacy in the Philippines during the fall of the Ferdinand Marcos regime.

Everything is pretty close to fact, with the exception of the role played the lead actor, was that of a fictional American reporter who was there at the time. The story had more than enough material without that immense distraction.

Still, not too shabby for an Aussie production in the 80's. (was a mini series that goes for 2 and a half hours)

He let it down too! Obviously, after Olympus and London has fallen he fancies himself as a leading man in an action film. It's a swiss cheese plot that could have been done much better, given the CGI was pretty good. The characters were too shallow but man Abbie Cornish is smokin' hot! Great Aussie export there.

This movie also had a decent cast with Jim Sturgess, Ed Harris and Andy Garcia supporting. It wasn't enough, unfortunately. At no time did it pull me in. Armageddon and Day after tomorrow were better films in a similar genre.

I watched Passengers and Magnificent Seven on Fox and I'm an unabashed Chris Pratt fan. If they ever do a remake of Indiana Jones, he should be it. It's too bad he is too old for a Han Solo back story becaue he would fit the bill perfectly.

Goes from chubby dude to leading man overnight.
