Rothfield stated on MMM that we have been in negotiations for the past 2 weeks and will approach the Titans soon.

Technically Hayne is not lying as he hasn’t yet approached the Titans.

I know a thing or two about liars and seeing the signs. Trust me when I tell you guys Hayne was full of shit when the reporters approached him today. Showed all the signs of lying.and rumours like this don’t come out of nowhere.
Thanks, but that is hardly earth shattering.

If anyone thought he was telling the truth then they need their f**ken head read.

Jarryd Hayne to quit Titans: Only a return to Parramatta can rebuild Hayne to the player he was

David Riccio, The Daily Telegraph
November 2, 2017 5:44pm

THE skinny is this. Jarryd Hayne needs the Eels, more than the Eels need Jarryd Hayne.

Hayne’s secret ambition to return to where it all began for him as a teenager, has the power to define his entire drama-filled career.

It’s a legacy contract. For Jarryd, coming home to Parramatta, is that big.

The 29-year-old won’t declare that publicly, but he knows it. He also knows the catch is this; the Eels are smarter than they once were.

Big names on big bucks — think Sandow, Hopoate, Watmough and Foran — is the old Eels.

The romance of the prodigal son returning to his people on a $1.2 million contract, wouldn’t float Bernie Gurr or Brad Arthur’s boat one bit.

If Jarryd is serious — and he’s told his closest friends that he is — about pulling on the Eels jersey again, it has to begin with an action.

Luckily for the at-times reticent trainer, we’re not talking hill sprints or beep tests, but instead — sacrifice.

Sacrifice, remember?

Just like when he announced his dream to play NFL in 2014, we all stood shaking our heads.

“He’s giving up a million dollar NRL contract for what, a dream? That Hayne has balls,’’ we said.

He won us over with his sacrifice. It’s time for the sacrifice card again, Jarryd.

And then maybe, just maybe, not just Eels fans, but NRL fans, will know you’re serious. For this to work, he has got to be ready to earn his lowest salary in almost 10 years.

If he’s on the reported $1.2 million with the Gold Coast next season, then Parramatta can’t possibly entertain welcoming ‘The Plane” back for anything more than $550,000 a season.

That’s his worth.

There wouldn’t be a single club in the NRL whose recruitment manager wouldn’t at least suggest to the head coach; “we can get the current NSW Origin centre for just over half a million.’’

Ultimately, this move is about Jarryd rebuilding a damaged brand, with the only club and coach who can help him do it.

Jarryd Hayne to quit the Titans: Desire to remain close to daughter behind Hayne speculation

Peter Badel and Matt Logue, The Courier-Mail
November 2, 2017 7:03pm

THE man who funded Jarryd Hayne’s signing with the Gold Coast has revealed the personal family struggle that could see him lost to the Titans.

Norm Black, whose company TripADeal bankrolled a $400,000 sponsorship to deliver Hayne to the glitter strip, says the NSW Origin ace is concerned about losing contact with his 11-month-old daughter Beliviah.

It is understood the child’s mother, Amellia Bonnici, is considering a move to Sydney to be closer to her parents, prompting Hayne to consider his future on the Gold Coast.

Hayne has been looking to buy a home at Byron Bay on the NSW far north coast, with Black making some offers on his behalf, suggesting the Titans fullback had no plans to quit the club.

Black is now considered a close personal friend of Hayne and remains hopeful he will honour his $1.2 million deal in 2018.

“I spoke to Jarryd two days ago and at no stage did he mention wanting out of the Titans,” he said. “He does have some personal issues which he is trying to sort through.

“There is a possibility his child could live in Sydney. The mother’s family is down south and she is looking for some more support from her family, so that is an issue for Jarryd.

“He is a great father and doesn’t want to be away from his child.

“The Titans signed Hayden Knowles and Craig Catterick (Hayne’s former conditioners at Parramatta) to help work with Jarryd, so I’d be stunned if he left.”

Knowles — who has joined the Titans on a $300,000 deal — says Hayne has confided in him about his personal family dilemma.

The highly-rated Knowles played a key role in the fitness regimen at Parramatta that saw Hayne win the 2009 Dally M Medal and was keen to reunite with him at the Titans, but this could now change.

Knowles would love to work alongside Hayne, but says he fully respects if he puts family before football.

“I have spoken to Jarryd about his family issue and his baby and he has been rattled about it,” Knowles said.

“I do know that he has some issues with his baby. I’m not aware if he is going to move clubs, but I do know there have been a few issues.

“She (his partner) moved home with the baby. It will be a shame if I go up there and he isn’t there, but he has got to do what is right.

“Hopefully for the Titans he is still there, but if he needs to sort things out with his baby and I know what I’d be advising and you’ve got to do what is best with that.”

Black revealed his personal sponsorship with Hayne ends this week, meaning the Titans must carry his entire $1.2m deal on the salary cap next season.

“We’re not paying for him for the 2018 season,” he said. “Our commitment was to bring him to the Gold Coast but we have no financial commitment to Jarryd next season, so his contract value is on the Titans’ books.”

If the club resigmln him, I will hand in my membership

The club is finally in a good place - we have a team playing as a team and no superstars. Arthur has instilled the team culture.

Getting Hayne would destroy that in a second - if there isnt a more "all about me" player in the world......

Come back to NSW but sign with a club that is closest to your child.....like Newcastle,.Manly.........just not us

P47 if I had a dollar ..

Think about the dark places we've all been in over the years. Signing Hayne would rank way down the list in the history of shit storm events. I don't think we need him either but its not all that bad if it happens.

My biggest fear is that rather than being a destabilizing influence is that he is a shadow of his former self.

Signing Hayne IMHO is actually an admission that Bevan is too light to make it as a premiership-winning fullback. Hopefully we can get him on the juice and he can fill out Inglis style in a few years.

I don't think so, just reckon BA wants a back to replace Semi and Hayne is probably the best option. Its just good that French / gutherson can play a few positions.

Perhaps Hayne might also see the Eels as a genuine contender next year, and the Titans not so much.

When he left us having "achieved all there was to achieve in the NRL" it was the one glaringly obvious omission.

Hayne on the wing for Parra ? Can't see it.

Maybe but I was just making the point I doubt BA is looking at Hayne because French is to light (as per your point). Just that he is the best option available for a top 13 back spot BA is looking for.

If he was to sign I'd give him Taka's spot but worry about his lazy arm grabbing antics that we saw this year.

If Brad Arthur is the one signing him, and the one who has instilled a different culture since Hayne left don't you think that Brad would know if Hayne is the right player to bring in?

Anyway, if you're going to give up over ONE player signing then see ya later. Parra fans are tougher than that.

I gotta admit I'd be very happy to see Hayne return, even happier if we got the 2014 Hayne

I'd be happy with the 2005-2007 Hayne, as I think he'll play in the outside backs. He was the intercept king in those years.

I reckon he'll play Semi's role but be better defensively

As explosive as he was in those years, 2014 saw him a far more complete player IMO, positioning and defence finally began to live up to the hype he gained from his attack.

As opposed to Taka’s non existent lateral movement and poor reads in defence? Give me Jarryd defending in the backline over Taka any day of the week.

1. Gutho
2. Kirisome
3. Jennings
4. Hayne
5. French
6. Norman
7. Moses

That’s a fair backline!! Hayne can do alot of the ruck work that French would otherwise be doing. Hayne could even drop back on the last instead of French if need be.
