Are the Titans copping the whole 1.2 Million, or is Trip-A-Deal still putting up 500k through the marquee player allowance?

If the Titans are only paying 700k, Can't see them kicking the can for more than a few hundred k at best. They still have to replace him with another fullback.

Unless of course they can shift the marquee money to Haynes replacement or Ash Taylor or the likes.
The marquee allowance is basically a bit of the salary cap ... titans would want it back to use on someone else

The Trip-a-Deal sponsorship ended this season according to a recent article (with quotes) so it looks like it’s all on their cap.

Yeah, but it's still provided by a "third party", so that third party would need to agree upon it's use. Theoretically at least, Trip a deal could hold the position of no Hayne, no 500k.

Yeah I kinda recall hearing something of that nature. Makes a big difference having the whole lot on their cap.

If Hayne wants out, they should be well able to replace him for well under that ( availability of a replacement assumed there ) so whatever the difference between the salary of Hayne and whoever replaces is isn't really costing the Titans anything if they pay it out to get out the contract.

Say 400k or thereabouts would still leave ample coin for a signing or two.

Then the club could just get a different TPA provider. I’m sure the club can even guarantee the MPA, meaning they can nominate anyone and when it falls through just pay it themselves.

Plenty of good wingers who cpuls play fullback and do a great job. Could get one for 350k.
I winder if Souths would part with Inglis
