I have been rewatching all of Mitchell Pearce’s games since his debut.
I’m about 80% done.

My findings is he’s a flat track bully.
Does well against piss weak defense but once the finals comes around he has nothing.
He chokes under pressure.
That’s why he has been massive flop in origin.
He has nothing in attack against good defense.
He can’t come up with the big plays.
He can’t build pressure and get repeat sets because his short kicking game is horrendous.

TLDR - Flat Track Bully

People talk about him being a premiership winning player.
Did you guys forget the side he was playing in?
Full of reps players.
Pearce was not influential.
It was SBW, Jennings and Maloney that came up with the big plays.
Lamb would also be a premiership winning halfback as well if he was playing in this side.

A new deal has been struck for Sione Mata’utia.

Off-contract in 2018, Market Watch can reveal a new three-year-deal has been agreed to but won’t be signed off until he has received clearance from a concussion specialist.

The desire to sign Sione for 3 more years is confusing to me. I wonder what will happen with sione if we sign another centre. They don’t want him in the forwards but there may end up not being a backline position. This would leave our captain in reserve grade on a big income.

So much this.
Sione is the most overrated junior we have ever produced.
There is no point offering him a 3 year deal.
There would be no clubs knocking the door to sign him.
Maybe for $120k the Titans might sign him for a year.
