I'm all for giving Dufty and Field game time but if you put them on the wing, you will crucify them.
One of the biggest mistakes Mary makes consistently is play players out of their specialist position.
McDonald has played his best football as a centre, not a winger.
Nightingale (that slow, useless veteran who scored 16 tries in 2017) is a right winger being played on the left wing.
Why not play Nene in the centres, bring Lomax onto the left wing (speed + size) and play Dufty at FB.
Then play the slow coach in his specialist right wing position. He might score 20 tries falling over the line in 2018!
Field could be our X factor off the bench or, cover for Widdop or Dufty as could Mann.
Plenty of exciting footballers there just need a coach that knows how to meld them into a coordinated attacking unit.
In spite all the criticism that our backline deservedly copped, I believe they were coached into oblivion by McGregor.
Far too conservative and not prepared to pick players on form.
Yes Macdonald to centre.
Yes Lomax to left wing.
Yes Zimmer-frames to right wing.
I totally agree with all of that. Its a shame we won't see it. Mr Conservative will never change things up unless injuries force change.

C'mon Crush.. It's not like you to be pessimistic. Remember that Nighty did well try wise, and certainly helped out our new incumbent FB on quite a few occasions at the end of season. Bring on 2018 says the girl who is mostly the glass half empty type :)

Ken Irvine was 173cms / 5ft 8ins tall and nearly scored a try per game. Speed and good hands is the most important skill for a winger. Cleary was fast, tall and big framed but had poor hands and bombed a few tries like Cardy.
Is there a more recent example?

On a side note DUFTY looks like he's bulked up in the off season so my mates tell me.anybody care to confirm that .......
Great let's bulk them all up and see if we can ruin their speed and agility just like we did with Dugan.
Honestly let them play footy and their bodies will mature naturally all this "feed lot" mentality is a joke.
If these guys become 15 kg heavier and cumbersome as well we have gained nothing.

Far too much logic, stating the bleeding obvious & good reasons in your post there for our L plate of a coach Dennis.:)

What's the alternative with these speedsters OT? I have an alternative idea, which is to teach them to get over their fear and get their bodies in shape without looking like muscles on bone. Prime examples would be Slater and Widdop.

I wasn't being Negative DQ just trying to be humorous. That Muzby guy seems to have sooo much fun I thought I would see what its like to be a comedian.
For the record- Nighty is still a great winger, even if he does have to use a zimmer-frame to walk.
