Ive never understood why people assume "Stand alone Origin = Weekend Origin"...

We could halt the NRL, keep Origin on Wednesday where it will easily get its highest ratings and play Pacific tests/9s/whatever over the weekends.

HavIng said that, Origin on a Sunday would have some big benefits for the game day experience. Like the GF, the precinct could be an all-day event finishing with the game. Something that cant happen on a wednesday...
