1 thing is appear to be surfacing above the water if it hasn’t already so is that griffen and gus have completely lost dressing room .. apart from the players that have already departed Peachy, Mansour, Merrin and Tamau all want out now!!
It maybe possible that peachy could come here on a short deal before he heads up the coast in 19...

Which would make a player swap pointless from our point of view ?

Peachy is a very good player but not sure if we really need him.

As someone has mentioned he's a similar player to Taka.

The very sentence above say that they make decisions on 'behavioural matters'. Nothing in what they said precludes them from observing evidence of behaviour via court findings, whether the be criminal or civil. That is not the same as 'getting involved' in the case.
he wasn't an NRL player then and as far as the police are concerned there was no misbehaviour

the NRL spokesperson makes a point of mentioning that too but then goes on to say they are monitoring his civil case

Their ISP team finished third last year, with the best defence in the comp. Surely they can find another couple of merkins to round out the squad.

No, I can't see why we would let anyone go, unless we want to free up some 2019 cap space. The following merkins are off contract next year (age in 2019):

Edwards (30)
French (23)
Gutherson (25)
Hoffman (31)
Jennings (31)
Mannah (31)
Ma'u (31)
Moeroa (24)
Moses (25)
Norman (28)
Takairangi (30)

As for why any would agree to leave, there is always the lure of more money. Plus for older players there is the chance to secure a long final contract.

Or maybe even merkins off contract this year might want to pick up an extension somewhere else (age this year):

Alvaro (25)
Brown (25)
Auva'a (26)
Davis (23)
Gennings (25)
Gower (33)
Hayne (30)
King (27)
Matagi (30)
Niukore (22)
Pritchard (24)
Scott (34)
Smith (26)
Terepo (27)
Vave (29)
Williams (30)

The only realistic ones I can see from that list are Matagi, Vave and maybe Terepo.

And personal reasons ... players have lives

There has been plenty of speculation about the impact that Ray Dib's departure will have on the Bulldogs playing group because of his connection to third-party sponsors at the club.

The obvious concerns would be the big signings Dib orchestrated last year: Kieran Foran and Aaron Woods. This column has been assured that neither Foran nor Woods have third-party deals with the club. Dib's view was that the Bulldogs needed to move away from such deals as the higher salary cap should be more than enough to accommodate players' wages.

FFS. No wonder that the general footy fan has NFI when so called respected football journalists report like this.
