Copeland about to bowl, when I got here I heard it was hand injury so must be his non-bowling hand.

Bancroft cover drove a couple on the up, NSW take out a slip and put him in at Cover and Bancroft drives straight to him, sharp catch by Cowan.

Bancroft will get eaten alive in South Africa.

Not sure if I read correctly but cricinfo said that Matt Wade took a 3fa?

Who the f**k were the plodsman?

Is he the all rounder that Gotham needs?

All tailenders good effort though

Would love to have seen a stumping or two go wrong off his bowling though :grinning:

Australia spinner Nathan Lyon unhappy with use of Dukes ball in Sheffield Shield
Quick bowlers might be happy with the Dukes ball used for the second half of the Sheffield Shield season but it's not a sentiment shared by NSW and Australian off-spinner Nathan Lyon.

Cricket Australia has again made the decision for the Dukes ball to be used in the second half of the Shield season with an eye on preparing Australian batsmen to better handle the swinging ball in England.

The difference was clear at the WACA Ground on Saturday, with Western Australia ultimately beating NSW by four wickets inside three days with neither team making more than 215 and WA's Hilton Cartwright making the highest score of 78.

Gripping the Kookaburra is a much-preferred option for off-spinner Nathan Lyon.

For the entire game, the Dukes ball swung markedly and Australia's leading off -spinning wicket-taker was far from impressed he had to bowl with it in preparation for the Test tour of South Africa.

"It would have been handy to play with the Kookaburra, I'm not going to lie. It is what it is, though, and Cricket Australia made the rules and that's the way we're going," Lyon said.

"I'm a big fan of the Kookaburra ball and I'm a big fan that if there's something in the wicket for it to be a contest between bat and ball.

"I hate when it goes too far one way whether it's too bowler-friendly or batting-friendly. I'd much rather see a decent contest between bat and ball.

"I know a lot of cricketers want a decent contest between bat and ball because it means if you're good enough you'll get runs, and if you're good enough you will take wickets.

"The Dukes ball did swing around a fair bit so it was a new challenge for our batters and we got found out."

Take out the ball and the fact that NSW narrowly lost the Shield game to WA, Lyon was happy with what he got from the clash in Perth where he took 3-59 in the first innings and 1-15 in the second.

"I was pretty happy with the way they came out. I was a bit rusty to start off with but it was nice to spend some time on the legs in preparation for South Africa," Lyon said.

"I can't wait to get over there. It's going to be one hell of a series. You have the two best bowling attacks, in my eyes, in the world going at each other. It's going to be a great challenge for our batters."

Safrica use a kookie is conditions that are more seam and swing friendly than those in Australia. So this will be good prep for any test batsmen going on the tour. Not so much for the bowlers.

Blues all out 213 2nd dig
Cowan and Henriques were soft dismissals. Moses caught and bowled via a forward defensive stroke lol

SA need only 189 to win

How Larkin is continually picked is one for Ripley's and we continually go in with only 4 recognised batsman. Selectors need a bullet.

Blues dip to 3rd

3 games to go for each state

Any state can make the final, any state can finish last

I hate this points system, you could make or miss the final by 0.01 points
