You know Mitch Marsh will be captain now...

Not sure what’s worse the coach or this thought lol

I just...

From Smith’s trial by media, to the broadcast deal, now this?

How many own goals can CA kick in such a short period of time?
AFL quality skillzzzzzz they have shown.

Don’t forget the players payment fiasco and how badly they botched that. How any of these clowns still have a job is one of Ripleys.

I don’t mind JL being head coach, he was groomed for the gig well before anyone else. And been around a while he would have learnt a lot along the way.

I think he will bring a steely resolve to the side, particularly the test side. Am expecting the likes of Renshaw form to go through the roof at test level.

Would have liked him to have two formats of the game and the t20 gig to go to Punter or Dizzy.

I’m prepared to see how he goes next 18 months before bagging him out. He is different to boof, I think for the better.

Mitch Marsh the next superstar of our game , put that in your diaries.
Is this the same Renshaw that called out by JL in the media????

The Brown Nosed Gnome will be pushing for Bancroft ASAP.

Good lord. He seems from his comments to be a headless chicken, doesn’t seem to think that sledging needs to be reigned in. I thought CA was trying to initiate change but they’ve just appointed another parasite.
That’s why Dizzy would of been a great choice, he hasn’t been in the system and has had to work his arse off to get where he has. Unlike Langer who was gifted a job almost straight away from his good mate Ponting.

Gilliespie can really consider himself unlucky. He would've brought a great team culture and he has a bit of coaching success behind him. Loved Langer as a batsmen so I wish him the best. Does have success with the Scorchers but test/international cricket is on a whole new level.

Would have preferred Gillepsie as well. Maybe he was asked and said no?

I guess it's possible Langer was the only that wanted the job who is at least kinda sorta qualified.

Technique isn’t everything

I agree its not everything, some ability helps, but correcting flaws can help improve a players performance, obviously that is not what he is there for, it will be all about discipline, head space etc

he wont improve anyone's performance as a coach unless he gets specialists on his staff

It's been the same since Arthur failed. CA have adopted a system where they only appoint CA taint lickers. Any time a new coach is mentioned, it's usually a CA taint licker. All the specialist coaches that have come and gone since Arthur have been CA taint lickers.

I'm willing to give Langer a chance, but I think the only bright spot in all this is Tim Paine. He definitely seems to want to change the culture and I hope he's given a decent run as interim captain. I also hope we identify the next man or men for the job now and start bringing them into the side (if they aren't already)...

Just watching fox live, and one of the reporters said that Dizzy didn't even apply for the position

he signed a 3 year deal late last year to coach Sussex, and this is also knowing Boof is gonna step down mid 2019

Dizzy was also pissed off in 2016 his name was brought up as bowling coaching for Australia when coaching Yorkshire

Langer has a lot of negative traits but he's got some positive qualities that might just be perfect for the current team.

1: As a player he was mentally and physically tough. If he can install that into the likes of Renshaw it will be invaluable.

2. Again, as a player he made the absolute most of his ability. Get that trait into the team and again it will be invaluable.

I liked Langer as a player, not sure about the coach yet

Loved him talking about the importance of good people being the first criteria (straight from the All Blacks rhetoric) - then listing the great cricketers he played with that were good people first - Warnie in the list, does good people mean something different in Australia, or just to JL?

And then we can bash him all we like if he plays favourites over form,
until then not gonna kick the bloke

Renshaw was woefull prior the ashes, everyone was calling him out lol

JL was as vocal as anybody and i thought was way over the top. Interesting to what happens he now has to coach Renshaw when he WA darling has been rubbed out.

Aaahh yes...Mickey Arthur......dropping players from tests for not doing their homework.....

How can we forget that?

The team went backwards under Arthur.

There simply aren't that many contenders out there.

Yeah I read that .......

"I have been bitterly disappointed watching the Australian cricket team over the last few years. The behaviour has been boorish and arrogant."

Actually people have been saying that ever since I started watching cricket in the 70s.....

Aaaannnndddd

"Ultimately, I wasn’t able to achieve that. I’m not exonerated of blame here. I could’ve handled things differently. The suspensions over ‘Homework-gate’ were probably excessive. I could’ve listened to more people. By the time I was sacked before the 2013 Ashes, it wasn’t working."

Could you imagine Dennis Lillee being dropped for not doing his homework?

And Arthur blamed Clarke - the lily white.....
