Is it a 'conflict of interest' for Refs boss Bernard Sutton to appoint his brother Gerard ahead of Matt Cecchin for the first State of Origin game?

When they drop the best ref in the game I'd say yes. They are going the "jobs for the boys" route.

Sutton getting the top gig is suspicious, but he has been there or there abouts in the last few years. (According to referee bosses).
But the howler is Ashley Klein.
Somehow Checcin has gone from number one ref to be rated behind the f**king dope who doesn’t know what being square at marker is.

Everyone has been saying Klein is the worst ref all year and he gets picked. I suspect it's stubbornness on the part of the refs boss/NRL to not admit someone is incompetent.
