Let's listen in.
You have an onfield complaint?
Against who?
And the old Gus Gould C-bomb get a dropped by Vuna.
Referring to Evans.

Vodafone Warriors win big in Sydney
Chanel Harris-Tavita, Tevita Satae and Anthony Gelling all had heavy involvements in the Warriors' win, which moves the side into seventh place on the ladder. The result, meanwhile, keeps the Magpies one spot lower and out of the top eight.

It was the Warriors who drew first blood, with a Lewis Soosemea try coming just three minutes into the contest. After an attacking grubber from Magpies five-eighth Piki Rogers went straight to Tevin Arona, who made a 60-metre dash downfield, the visitors made the most of the early opportunity. A Chanel Harris-Tavita pass cut out Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad to find Anthony Gelling, who tipped it on to Soosemea to score.

Despite enjoying a high rate of possession and completion rate in the opening half hour of play, it was the Warriors who continued to increase their lead with two more quick tries. A strong Tevita Satae run set up another chance for his side, and a fine dummy-half pass from Nicoll-Klokstad then moved the ball right to Johnny Tuivasa-Sheck, who scored.

Minutes later, Satae himself would further the Warriors' advantage, taking the ball from Chanel Harris-Tavita 20 metres out and charging through the Magpies defence, carrying three men to score.

John Teina's men had all the running and once again Harris-Tavita was involved in their next try. A simple ball to Gelling set up an easy try in the corner - and after the five-eighth missed all three of his previous conversion attempts, the tee was handed to Arona, who successfully added the extras. It left the Warriors with an 18-0 lead at half-time.

After an error of the restart, the Magpies looked to have bounced back when Yileen Gordon was held up over the line in the 35th minute. The Warriors were again next to score, however, as a Harris-Tavita 40-20 set up another attacking set before he passed to try-scorer King Vuniyawa.

A Warriors forward pass soon after brought a minor momentum shift, and Oregon Kaufusi barged through from close range to get the Magpies on the board.

The home side couldn't continue their run and the Warriors soon got back on the front foot, with Gelling and Harris-Tavita coming up with a 60-metre kick-return. Eventually, some enterprising play brought Vuniyawa's second try; after two offloads, the ball came to Sam Cook, who sent the ball right to Blake Ayshford to make a run down the western touchline. Ayshford passed inside to Vuniyawa, who was nearly dragged down before getting back up and making it a 30-6 scoreline.

Wentworthville hoped to have scored a late consolation try when Jaeman Salmon shifted play to the left, but a Kirisome Auva'a pass to Dane Aukavolau was ruled forward. Late in the game it would be Joseph Vuna to score, with a Ligi Sao offload helping the visitors move left towards the makeshift centre. With Arona's conversion attempt splitting the uprights, the final score was 36-6.

I enjoyed that game. Aside from the result, ISP games a real bonus during a bye round.

Wenty were poor to be fair but that is the nature of ISP games.

Lisone playing might be about a fitness run as it is about where he is in the rankings. How good is it to get to see Satae and Lisone in the same team to make direct comparison.

Loving the way our ISP team has adopted the same structures as the NRL side, about time, that has been the Clubs biggest and long standing failure.

The only consistency between grades in the past has been the second phase hail Mary stuff,

Gee the teams left edge at times looked more efficient and better able to run set plays than the top side.

Not wanting to get too excited about an unproven young player these days till they can be measured at NRL level but....Tevita Harris is something special. No wonder Kearney has big raps on him.

I am trying to imagine when was the last time that we had a junior player Kick a forty twenty ? the local games biggest short coming that cannot field kick long.

Matt, you didn't get to the game?

It wouldn't have been a great experience, being a warm-up to a first grade game at a 1/6 full Olympic Stadium.

And freezing now too. Winter's arrived in NSW.

Injury-hit Vodafone Warriors edge Knights

The Warriors have overcome a much-improved Newcastle Knights side at McDonald Jones Stadium, overcoming the 12th-placed home side in a 22-18 Intrust Super Premiership victory.

Goal-kicking ultimately proved the difference in the four-tries-all result, but it was a more influential performance from halfback Brock Lamb, who gave his side every chance of success. For the Warriors, Mason Lino overcame a shaky start and Sam Cook had some key plays in securing their eighth win of the season

It would be the Knights who had all the running early, and Lamb soon took charge to deliver the opening points. Desperate to make his mark on the Intrust Super Premiership, the talented halfback took a quick tap from a Newcastle penalty, sliding across to the left edge before putting in a grubber off his left foot for Pat Mata'utia. The second-rower was successful in chasing the ball down for a 4-0 advantage.

The left side again brought points for the Knights when fullback Nick Meaney tried his luck five minutes later; Meaney almost lost the ball but regathered as he easily beat Warriors winger Johnny Tuivasa-Sheck to score. With Lamb unable to convert again, however, the home side had to settle for an 8-0 lead.

Newcastle enjoyed a whopping 70% possession in the opening 20 minutes, but their opposition soon took their opportunity to hit back on the scoreboard. After Knights centre Beau Fermor was dragged down close to the line, Lamb forced a line dropout - but when Sam Cook found touch from the ensuing kick, momentum shifted. The Warriors made the most of their chance, with Mason Lino putting in a kick for Joseph Vuna, who took a fumble from Meaney to cross the line. Converted by Lino, it left an 8-6 half-time scoreline.

The second half saw the Warriors continue their momentum as Blake Ayshford was next to score at the end of a good team play. A wraparound play from James Bell found Cook, who passed onto Lino and then found the experienced centre in a hole.

Lamb was once again required to wrestle back the run of play which he achieved with a 40-20. Soon after, with the Knights in attacking position, a Hayden Loughrey cutout ball found Tom Hughes, who got the ball down despite an untimely trip. Once again unconverted, it levelled scores at 12-all.

From there, another big play from Cook continued the Warriors' charge.

The Warriors hooker took the quick tap to put his side on the front foot, from which the visitors shifted left, with Lino finding Hayze Perham in a big gap. Five minutes later, with the Warriors again pressuring the Knights' line, rampaging forward Albert Vete took on Tom Starling to crash over from close range, opening up a 10-point lead.

One of the Knights' set plays eventually came off late in the game, when a Zac Hosking short ball sent Fermor into space, resulting in 22-18 scoreline with six minutes remaining. With Lino expertly closing out the game for his side, however, the Warriors would come away with a four-point victory.
