Why would Bennett go to a club run by a penny-pinching Administrator, who is also controlling the finances of their major financial contributor.?
Yep he would steer clue of this absolute mess. Not even all the money in the world would get him here.

I really, really hope the Bennett rumour is wrong. Look at what fresh ideas have done for Souths with Seibold (spelling?) coming in.
There has to be a better option...

In Bellamy's hands apparantly....if he says yes to the Broncs then Bennett's your's for '19. Cant help but think of his tenure at the Nights. ...i'd be nervous about it but who knows...your next fullback may come down with him

Imagine Bennett trying to recruit at our club without the Bronco and Tinkler dollars he has been used to... He'd be like "why is Mitch Moses on the books for 700K?? The most we ever paid for Locky was 180K"

Well if he brought TPJ and Matt Lodge with him, I'd be happy.

Gold Coast Titans turn down chance to sign Corey Norman due to off-field dramas

Peter Badel, The Courier-Mail
June 14, 2018 4:13pm

COREY Norman’s bad-boy reputation has cost the out-of-favour Parramatta playmaker any hope of a big-money move to the Gold Coast Titans.

The Courier-Mail can reveal Norman has been secretly shopped to the Titans, with Parramatta prepared to subsidise the former Bronco’s return to Queensland after a series of off-field dramas at the Eels.

Norman’s management has held informal talks with Titans coach Garth Brennan to gauge the prospect of the 27-year-old reigniting his NRL career at the Gold Coast.

On talent alone, Brennan would be prepared to sign Norman, but the Titans’ recruitment-and-retention committee has torpedoed a possible lifeline due to the five-eighth’s chequered history.

Norman was fined $20,000 a fortnight ago for drinking alcohol while injured, which came two years after the one-time Queensland Origin hopeful was embroiled in a sex-tape scandal.

Titans hierarchy are determined to cultivate a squeaky-clean image following the club’s cocaine drama in 2015 and believe Norman is not the right fit for their club.

Bennet since he has been back to Brisbane had them in a GF then finish 5th and 2nd. I havent rated their squad that highly since he has been back so done fine.
His sucess at Dragons was great. People blame him for knights. That is a cop out. Sure he may of made a few poor decisions like every other coach has. To blame him for the whole mess is bullshit though.
Here people say it takes 5yrs for BA to get juniors come through....I doubt Bennet was one who handed them 3 wooden spoons.

NRL gossip: Parramatta target Wayne Bennett with Craig Bellamy poised to reject Broncos

Peter Badel, The Courier-Mail
June 14, 2018 6:45pm

THE Wayne Bennett-Craig Bellamy saga has taken a fascinating twist with Bellamy tipped to stay loyal to Melbourne … and Bennett being linked with a big-money move to the Eels.

The whispers about Parramatta’s interest in Bennett won’t go away.

Bennett is adamant he has not been approached by the Eels but well-placed Parramatta sources have told Blindside the super coach is their No. 1 target if the blue-and-gold’s dismal season eventually costs besieged Brad Arthur his job.

A move to Sydney would not deter Bennett. He will never move overseas because of his disabled son Justin but Bennett will consider the interstate relocation that saw him coach the Dragons for three seasons between 2009-11.

Bennett revealed to The Courier-Mail last month that he had received interest from two NRL clubs, including one based in Sydney.

The 68-year-old is keen for another term at Red Hill in 2020 but the Broncos are likely to push on with their succession plan, with or without Bellamy.

Even Bennett was privately convinced Bellamy would accept a four-year offer from the Broncos, but the pendulum is swinging towards Melbourne.

Storm multi-millionaire co-owner Matt Tripp had dinner with Bellamy earlier this week and is confident of keeping him in Melbourne.

Should Bellamy commit to the Storm, the Broncos’ succession plan will be in tatters, with Maroons coach and Brisbane legend Kevin Walters one option for the post-Wayne era.
