Will Smith's kick did so much for both teams. Dragons never looked back... Eels morale disolved.

Paul Carige/Will Smith award goes to Cooper Cronk for looking like a ghost with the game on the line.

Paul Cariage was nowhere near as consistent as Will Smith at f**king up

Carige was a very average first grader, but was not consistently poor. Even in the game that earned his fame and this thread he was ok most the game.

He earns this award in his honour though, if you ever watch the game you'll see why.

Trying his best, through stupidity and terrible execution, he single handedly turned the momentum against his team in a big game with a series of gob smackingly terrible plays over a sustained 15 minute period.

It would be hard to recreate that each week. Little things like missing an easy conversion or dropping a ball (Even in a grand final) are not really in the league of a Carige effort, but I guess they will have to do

Carige actually payed a MOTM effort against Brisbane in that same finals series and somehow stopped Hancock from scoring when close to the line with a brilliant tackle

Yes, not really a rocks and diamonds player.

The special period of play that earned his rugby league immortality was out of character for the team, and for him, in the context of the year, the finals series, and the first 70 of that game.

Just part of what made it so special.
