Because f**k it, why not? A great series win and an amazing, gutsy, backs to the wall effort tonight, but lacking a bit of polish when the game was there to be won at the end (when to be fair they were all gassed). Still plenty of room for improvement in our squad, especially in the forwards. A few of them need to aim up a lot more than they did across the series, and produce an effort more in line with what they show week in, week out.

Teddy, Turbo, Latrell, and Addo-Carr all established themselves as belonging in this arena. The jury is still out on Roberts. I'd be inclined to move Tom to centre and bring in Cotric.

We don't really have too many options in the halves. Cleary has a huge upside. Maloney is rocks and diamonds, but certainly was crucial in winning the series. The rest of our eligible halves don't really stand out as putting much pressure on either of them: Austin, Sezer, Williams, Moses, Pearce, Lamb, Cogger, Watson, Keary, Brooks, Moylan, Townsend, Reynolds, Reynolds, Hodkinson, Green, Doueihi, May, Luai, Hodkinson. Not too many future immortals in that list.

In the forwards, all our back rowers did ok, but I thought all our front rowers were unwhelming. The question is what options do we have outside RCG, Vaughan, Prior, and Klemmer? Not the eternal pillow Woods, certainly. Ryan James? Tolman? We're pretty light on to be frank. The 4 who did play this series are our best, but they all need to really fire up if given another go next year. Their lack of go forward is what kept Queensland in all 3 games.

Cook has a mortgage on the hooking spot for as long as he's around. Was the true man of the series. McInnes is a handy back up if Cook goes down.

I don't mind Peachey on the bench, but we need a better plan to use him. Get him into the game much earlier. Personally I'd probably opt for an extra forward though.

If NSW are short of props I don't know why they don't pick Ruan Sims. She would be better then her dumb arse brother Tariq. Struts around all pumped up trying to be the tough guy. As Jake the Muss, would say "too many weights not enough speed work".

A decent prop

Roberts put in effort wise but his one decent asset, speed, is always going to be negated when he comes up against a decent defence. If Tommy Turbo can play wing, he can play centre. We missed ooomph coming out of our own end which Cotric and Mansour can supply, I doubt they'll drop Addo Carr though.

Need 4 props, not 2 plus 2 guys thrown into the role. Not sure who the 4th one is but as long as its not Aaron f**king Woods then it'll be ok.

The team itself wasn't too bad. I'd go Cotric on the wing with Turbo in centres for Roberts, and with RCG back in I'd be dropping Crichton - Sims can fill in on the edge in case of injury and all Crichton does is move Frizell away from his best position. Other than that, we just need to work on utilising the bench better and sorting out game plan. I dont know WTF Freddy was smoking leaving Vaughan on the bench the whole second half.

I said after game one that i thought we were short a middle forward and i haven't changed my mind. McLean, RCG Merrin or the like to come in. probably at the expense of Sims and Angus

Also still think we lack a bit of punch coming out of our own end. Turbo and JAD were very good but its just not the strongest part of their game. Either Mansour or Cotric would provide better starts to our sets how you get the right balance though i'm not sure.

Jury still out on Roberts for me.

If Waqa Blake can play on the right he is made for it. He has done it for penrith before I’m not sure how he went. Give Roberts spot to him. Beast defender with great speed, he marks up well on GI.

Tariq Sims was explosive when he entered the Origin arena unfortunately he did something totally stupid. He's just like Wade Graham in that sense where they both have the ability but just can't help themselves. Its really unfortunate tbh especially since players with lesser impact (Cordner, Crichton) are mainstays because they're more disciplined.

How would you cover an injury in the spine or the outside backs? That is why Peachey was there. The funny thing is, he's going to struggle to hold his place in the Panthers 17 given his current form.

See how the likes of Aitken, C Scott, W Blake and Ramien develop these guys should be putting pressure on Roberts to make the side but they have to be playing well. Peachey to me is still our best option I think he just needs to be given more time so he doesn’t overplay his hand

Thats a good question. I think a couple of options would be someone like Keary/Moylan for that bench utility role. With one less bench forward your rotation is impacted but the likes of Frizz/JDB/Jurbo are interchangeable as middle forwards so we would be covered by going with the utility option.

James Roberts out. Depending on form and fitness someone like Blake or Aitken in. One thing NSW got right was specialist centres. Helped for defence. Roberts being replaced by a guy with a bit more power IMO would improve us slightly.

I want Cotric in the team too. But really don't think either winger deserves to be dropped. I think I would look at losing JAC to fit Cotric in.

Although if we stayed loyal to this years team that's fine too. I think we can tweak it to be slightly better. But they did incredibly well and next year could really improve with the experience.

We used 13 rookies this series. Most of them will likely be better if given another run next year.

I've never seen the hype around McLean. Seems an average, dime-a-dozen first grade prop who looked slightly above average being fed by Cam Smith.

Waqa Blake for Roberts. One of Mansour or Cotric would be great for us coming out of our end. Peachey also just ran sideways. Need more from your utility if they're taking a bench spot.

Wouldn't change much from this year and most of the guys are only young and will get better as time goes on. Would like to see Aitken get in ahead of Roberts.

Please,no Penrith players in 2019. We've got bigger fish to fry than this three ringed Circus.

But with Brandy and Freddy at the helm,we could see as many as 8.RGC,Mansour (doubtful, prob injured again),Maloney,Cleary,Yeo,Blake,Merrin and Moses Leota on the bench.:)
