Titans guy been garbage
Souths side on paper worse then ours

Is it?

Current rep [serious]players for Souths off the top of my head(not including 2018 reps):

Sam Burgess
Tom Burgess
George Burgess
Greg Inglis
Dane Gagai

Current [serious] rep players for Parramatta off the top of my head:

Manu Ma'u
Peni Terepo
Michael Jennings

Ok, Alvaro, Brown, Moses, and Mannah also played in the World Cup.

But in terms of elite nations/Origin, Souths have it all over us.

Then you add in NSW hooker Cook, and things look even less comparable.

 really? FFS!!

They have a pack that is all nearly all Rep players - burgess brothers have all played 10 plus test matches for England. Cook / Crichton are current origin players.

They have an ex NSW rep (and premiership winner) in the halves. While their back line has 2 current origin players and a former Aus rep in Inglis / Gagai and Johnston.

So that’s 5 players with origin experience (4 current) and another 4 players with international rep experience with the big 3.

While 6 or so players are premiership winners.

Our side basically has 3 players with origin experience Jennings, Hayne and Mannah (one from nearly 10 years ago, Scott not included as retired) and 2 with international rep experience with the big 3, Taka / Manu. We have 1 premiership winner.

While nothing to be proud of we have lost 10 games by 10 or less points this year, which is bugger all - scoring a try/stopping a try/better discipline.

It’s gives us something to work with during the off-season - it’s not like we are being flogged

Some improvement in defence and attack can being achieved during the off-season by the current players working hard / implementing better structures/ improvement in attitudes and the addition of some new players.

A better indicator is our for and against which is the 2nd worst in the comp.

No argument in 2018 but last year under Maguire Tom and George were very average when they managed to hold on to the ball. Reynolds and Sutton were in poor form. Inglis didnt play but it appeared he was slowing up in 2016. Cook was a part timer. Johnson was shuffled between 1 & 2. Crichton was good but not yet a SOO player.
Potential we have a good team so whats changed at The Bunnys?

Round one before season kicks off every NRL fan takes our halves over theres.
And Gutherson over Jonhston.
Inglis coming back from an ACL had huge doubts. And bwr Sam the other Burgess boys had no form.

Taka was a rep but Brown,Manu,Jennings,Hayne, Gutherson,Moses,Norman,Bevan,Evans, KE,Tepai.

Some very good players.

See how I was shot down? At start of season most on here would predict us to finish higher then souths. Then we get called death riders.

The interesting thing is if BA gets punted, the talk is Maguire appears to be the chosen one to replace him. If that were the case we would need to support him with potential replacements given his fall from grace at The Bunnys. Maybe he is a great coach for a specific period only. Time will tell I guess.

Souths and Titans have new coaches this year........pretty much proves your point!
You don’t think Brennan hasn’t done a decent job??? They were tipped to win the spoon. They have played a hell of a lot better than us. He has also blooded some talented rookies by the looks. The 6 Brimson and that young forward can’t remember his name look top quality.
