Even in the last few days after this Rd 2 flogging things are the light we have needed - for years.

That's a great read. I wonder what it means for guys like Leilua in this defensive system? You need pretty much everyone in the front line to be solid defensively while we know Leilua has his issues.

We've had good defensive performances without Leilua & bad ones with him in the 13 on the edge. While our attack is still humming regardless of him playing.

IMO he should be coming off the bench to play either middle or limited mins on the edge where he can play at a defensive standard required.

We can't afford to have missed tackles/line breaks with this defensive system.

Ah a statistic that shows one side of a story. wish there was an effort statistic to show how many times a player lets another run by without an attempted tackle

There actually is ... the stats are called try causes and line break causes and factor in things like being out of position, being carried across the line, missed tackles for tries. Luc is performing better than Su'a on those metrics also this year albeit a very small sample.
