LUKE SAMOA is born 1988. Ex Wavell boy & Norths St Josephs junior. He played some Q Cup for Norths last year but mainly Colts U19. He was on a Storm contract but let go by them. I am told that he & Kevin Carmichael did not get along.

Panapa is a big, agile kid who is good on his feet but is more likely to play in the second row or at lock. He isn't really a 5/8 but has the skills to play there if need be. He was probably the best colt for Wynnum in the FOGS colts competition last season. Dodds is a prop or second rower and went well last season in colts for Wynnum along with Guy Ford, who came down from St Brendans Yeppoon I believe. Cotter has had a few seasons in colts now and is deceptively quick and quite strong, although he doesn't look very big.

What happened to Rodney Davies? Got picked for the FG trials last season and QLD u19s. Pretty sure he was a regular scorer for Aspley till he got injured...

CHRIS Latham's decision to take the big money in English rugby union could sway Broncos speedster Rodney Davies to return to the 15-man code in 2009.
Davies, a former Australian Schoolboys union star, said yesterday he remained torn between union and league.

It would be a difficult choice at the end of next season when his second 12-month NRL deal with the Broncos expires.
The 18-year-old said fullback was his preferred position in union but he expected to play wing in league, especially as the Broncos boasted Test fullback Karmichael Hunt.

Davies toured New Zealand and Fiji with the 2006 Australian Schoolboys and the Queensland Rugby Union was shattered to lose him to league, the game he grew up with in Rockhampton.
"It was a good experience and I enjoyed the tour and got a feel for the union rep stuff but I'm happy here," said Davies, who started playing union as a boarder at Ipswich Grammar.
"I've only ever signed 12-month contracts and I know there is interest from the Reds. I see Chris Latham is going to England so that could be a possibility but I'm liking it here and I'm liking my league.
"But you never know. I wouldn't rule out playing union, that's for sure. I enjoyed union. I'm not going to lie there. I like both games.
"In union I really like playing fullback. That's where I played my last full season and that's where I'd like to play if I ever went back.
"Maybe I could play fullback in league. I ended last season there in the Queensland Cup and really enjoyed it."
Two of Davies's schoolboy teammates, Kurtley Beale and Quade Cooper, are playing Super 14 for the Waratahs and Reds respectively, and Jared Waera-Hargreaves has signed with NRL grand finalist Manly after a season with the Waratahs.
Latham will play Super 14 for the Reds next year before joining English club Worcester at the end of the season.
Davies has been earmarked for his first grade debut with the Broncos in 2008 but competition for wing spots will be intense.
Darius Boyd, Steve Michaels, St George Illawarra signing Tom Hewitt and feeder team Aspley's 2007 best back Denan Kemp are among the contenders.
"There are a lot of boys in front of me at the moment and I don't want to get too far ahead of myself," Davies said.
"I just want to play my best and I'll probably start off in Q Cup. I'm not expecting too much first up."
Davies is one of the fastest footballers in the country.

So I take it Brisbane aren't too interested in the U20's and prefer the talent to develop in the QLD Cup? Kind of funny to see RU officials crying over players they never really 'owned' ie Davies and Hunt both on RL scholarships.

No Billy Rogers ?? what's the story ?? Is he in the Top 25 ??

He is not even close to top 25. (Probably never will in my opinion)

The Broncos are probably playing him in Q Cup. Players who they rate are within a year of possibly playing NRL are being placed in Q cup & won't play NYC.

Troyden Edwards & Jacob Fauid are two that I know who have been told that they won't play NYC. If David Taylor loses form he won't play NYC either. The Broncos will have a lot of 18yos playing NYC.
