We are the Tigers' bogey team - they've beaten us just once in the past seven matches.

I don't know if Benji has ever tasted victory against us - unless he played in those two matches down in Christchurch in 2004 and 2005.

Both teams play a similar brand of football and I believe we are in this.

What will definitely count against us in this one is the fact that we are being crippled by the injury bug and won't have Rapira and probably Maloney. That, and the short turnaround.

Crippled by the injury bug because you are missing two players?

You're missing Maloney, we're missing Moltzen.

You're missing Rapira, we're probably missing Galloway.

If Vatuvei doesn't play, well, we're missing Tuiaki.

We're missing Fulton, we're missing Ayshford, we're missing a bunch of other players that have played first grade, Schirnack, Schirnack, Cayless, Tupou.

There are no excuses. Both teams are depleted.

That being said I'm confident the Tigers will win.

Hoping it's us.

Warriors hit us at a lucky time considering our injuries and the fact we have only 7 days to turn around.

This is our list of players out (also baring in mind James Maloney is named on the outside chance he is ok to play):

Manu Vatuvei
Steve Price
Jacob Lillyman
Upu Poching (who would hae been Rapira's replacement)
Sam Rapira
Patrick Ah Van (Locke is back in the team to replace him after he was dropped)

I'm also fairly sure both Shaun Johnson and Elijah Taylor would have been at least bloody close to first grade selection, but both have had prolonged injuries (Johnson is back in U20s now).

Add to that, these players have missed game availabilities due to injuries. Simon Mannering, Michael Luck, Brett Seymour, Ian Henderson, Wade McKinnon, Sione Louisi (who started the year in first grade), Jerome Ropati....

It's a shorter list to name those who have been available since round 1! Not an excuse, because frankly I'm fairly happy with us being 50/50 at this stage of the season with that toll.

Geez, how many days do you want/normally have?

Nothing wrong with a 7 day turn around

Rumours floating around that Vatuvei may play

he wont I dont think, he's got a date...

The Vodafone Warriors join family, friends and fellow club members in mourning the passing of Sheldon Tahau.

A mechanic and keen fisherman, Sheldon was a valued and loyal member who demonstrated his commitment to the club by making the return trip from Taupo to Auckland to attend Vodafone Warriors home games over the past five seasons.
He was again at Mount Smart Stadium last Sunday, watching the Vodafone Warriors' match against South Sydney with his son Dion. Tragically Sheldon (38) collapsed and died late in the game.

Sheldon's funeral is being held Friday, 1.30pm at Taupo Funeral Services, 117 Rickit Street,Taupo. Vodafone Warriors CEO Wayne Scurrah, General Manager Don Mann and Dion's favourite player Manu Vatuvei will be attending the funeral on behalf of the club.

What are the odds for this one? I wouldn't mind having a few $ on the Warriors, especially if they are over $3.

Experienced New Zealand Warriors forward Micheal Luck and standoff James Maloney have been ruled out of tomorrow's National Rugby League match against the Wests Tigers in Sydney with injury.

Tireless loose forward Luck suffered split webbing during Sunday's defeat of South Sydney and has spent the last three days on a drip in an attempt to quell the infection, which emerged after the cut was stitched up post-game.

Team medical staff decreed he shouldn't travel with the team today to avoid the chance of the infection spreading, leaving Luck disappointed.

"At the moment it looks a bit messy, like I've got a red volleyball on the end of my arm," he told Radio Sport today.

"I feel pretty ordinary for letting the boys down but in all honesty I don't think I could have done the jersey proud this weekend.

"Maybe if the game was on Sunday, I would have been a good chance of playing."

Hooker specialist Ian Henderson will be promoted from the interchange bench to start in Luck's place, with Sione Lousie added to the bench.
Lousie made his debut against Gold Coast in the opening round of the season.

Also promoted from the bench for the 12th-round match at Campbelltown Stadium is standoff Joel Moon.

He replaces Maloney, who was forced out of the Souths match after 24 minutes with a back injury. Maloney was ruled out after last night's training session.

Moon has been playing for the Auckland Vulcans in the New South Wales Cup since the Warriors' eighth-round loss to the Canberra Raiders.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Brings the injury toll to Price, Lillyman, Vatuvei, Poching, Maloney, Rapira, Luck. Ugh, it'd be nice to go through a game without picking up a new injury.
