What would the fixture days look like?

2 Friday
3 Saturday
3 Sunday
1 Monday

WA time gives a different live slot option every other week but I presume from a TV point of view it would need to look like something above?

the 21,500 who bought tickets in June must have thought they were buying tickets to NHL ice hockey by mistake then I guess? :)

21,500 tickets sold for a 1 off game isn't that impressive tbh. Actually it was Souths, so it's not too bad.

Hardly hard proof that a new franchise is required.

U must be living under a rock if u can't see the potential/benefits of having a Perth team in the comp.......

Matt Petersen, Jon Green, Cory Paterson, Bryson Goodwin, Bronx Goodwin, Daniel Holdsworth, Lee Ta Mari, all West Australian's who have played NRL in the past decade...clearly someone over there knows what Rugby League is considering WA has produced more players than SA, NT, Victoria &Tasmania combined (and there have been some players from that group, McManus & Kelly are two who come to mind)

Added to the fact there is advantages with timezone, strong economy, a large eastern fan base which have moved to Perth, strong local competition are just some of the reasons why the WA Reds make sense.

Before the Western Force came along the RL scene was strong in Perth but of course the NRL didn't capitalise soon enough and many jrs switched codes because they saw a clear pathway to professional football. AFL has two teams here, A-League has one, NBL has one, Super 15 has one even ABL has one but the NRL would rather not put a team in one of Australia's fastest growing cities. If WA doesn't get a team soon the state will be lost forever. WA has the potential to be bigger than the Melbourne Storm if done correctly.

IIRC WA at one point had the most registered juniors outside of NSW and QLD...

I'd be in favour of Perth.

But back to the REAL question of the thread:

The one extra game would probably be put on a Sunday. Be interesting to see how a Sunday night footy would rate - 3pm; 5pm and 7pm Sunday timeslots?

If that's not going to work, then 3.30pm Saturday fits in nicely.

Back to conjecture: IF Perth is in the comp, one would assume they play mainly day games over there, which screen here at night. OR they are the 'late game' on Friday night (ie live telecast for the 2nd game too - can't see that being overly popular with the networks though). They'd probably be lucky enough not to have home games for MNF as well.

So how many times are you expecting Manly to be able to sell that many tickets to a game next year?

And your shitty club deserves to be in the comp whilst pulling massive crowds of 6148 and 8452?

WA must have a team.

As for the topic. we need a 3pm Saturday game but the NRL wants night games so a compromise will be to shift one of the Sunday games back to 6:30pm Sunday (fits right between the news and the Sunday night movie (or whatever crap channel nine are putting on at 8:30).

I'd like to see:

Friday 7:30 x2
Saturday 3:00
Saturday 5:30
Saturday 7:30
Sunday 2:30
Sunday 3:00 x2
Sunday 6:30
Monday 7:00

4 day games, 5 night games is a good compromise. The networks get their high rating spots and the fans get the day games. Win-win
