    To be fair - The RFL have always kept the Challenge Cup and a fair amount of internationals on the free-to-air TV. They've kept a balance much better than for instance cricket has. I'm not sure the BBC would be interested in more Super League coverage than they currently provide - a highlights...

    The assumption seems to be that Scotland and Ireland were rolling in RLIF dollars. Scotland had some funding - but it was from the British Sports authorities and it disappeared just before the World Cup. As of now Scotland is run by hardy individuals just as in so many other nations...

    Those are the requirements to ACHIEVE such status - that might be your loophole. However, I agree that unless Scotland get their Open Age domestic system up and running PDQ (i.e. next season) they have to be excluded from the World Cup and their spot given to the next highest European side...

    A rather low attendance - a record low for Wrexham - but given the Welsh struggles in the tournament that may not be too surprising.

    BBC gave the crowd at 1,500 - which is more than they used to get playing EC fixtures in Glasgow. Glad to hear Evil Homer suggests that might be a slight under-estimate.

    Given the circumstances in the Ukraine and Crimea - it is little short of incredible how good a job Artur Martyrosyan and his team are doing. Like the Serbs they deserve all the help that can be given to them.
