    Todd Greenberg stands down

Just proves my point, when you have fans that are willing to accept a wrong decision over the right one to suit there team or hatred thereof, it will never appease some. Referees are an easy mark... let’s not forget the missed tackle that led to the try or the center who hogged the ball. Even...

    News Ltd and Control

By all reports the current contract amount isn’t being enforced this year (Fair enough) and Reports are over the next 2 years will be less and the cherry on top is that the nrl will extend the contract agreement for another 2 yrs for the inconvenience. How’s that work? If that happens surely you...

    Todd Greenberg stands down

you sure? I can still hear the whining from the refs making a decision in the gf last year. Don’t kid yourself.

    News Ltd and Control

i was talking about several articles that have come from 9, Gus and others saying that the clubs should have a larger say in the running of the comp and in turn a larger cut. They say It should be more like the EPL apparently. Small head office and essentially run by the clubs. V’landys has...

    News Ltd and Control

Is that the nrls fault? A contact is a contract and should be enforced. do you honestly think if the nrl takes off in the US when it starts back in May and Foxtel makes a killing from it that the nrl will be reimbursed extra money? When the shoes on the other foot the Nrl has to cop it then...

    News Ltd and Control

Oh if the afl is doing it we should as well. Geez the afl do a lot of dumb shit but it’s always reported with rose colored glasses. a 5yr deal is a 5yr deal. Yes negotiate this years season, that Seems fair but not sure how that should alter the next 2 years tv monies. That’s the risk the tv...

    Financial fragility of the game

Lets not forget that V’landys has been a commissioner for 2 years, since March 2018.

    News Ltd and Control

now is the most stupid time to negotiate a new tv deal for the nrl. We clearly have cash flow problems nine and fox are trying to force our hand to extend. V’landys seems happy to just cop it and blame previous admin

    News Ltd and Control

I remember a article from a while ago talking about the bunker. Apart from the initial set up cost, the bunker actually makes money through the kfc sponsorship. Digital could always be done better but I really hope they don’t sell it. The Aus gov is forcing Facebook and google to pay media...

    News Ltd and Control

Yes by all reports he has done a good job for nsw racing. I just hope his childhood memories don’t cloud his judgement and that he remembers that it’s not nsw nrl, it’s the NRL.

    News Ltd and Control

haha do you honestly think that giving clubs more money will actually work? The past 25 years says it won’t. They have received more money now than ever before and still expect more. not sure about Greenberg being to tied to clubs..... that was the reason he got arsed!! He actually realized...

    Todd Greenberg stands down

And what’s funny about all this is that Grant forced clubs to fund these things when he apparently capitulated to the clubs.

    News Ltd and Control

The writing is on the wall. V’landys will blame coronavirus for taking unders and extending the tv deal. He also won’t expand and will give the current clubs what they want to keep his media team (9/news Ltd) supplying positive stories about him. Down the tract though I can see a large...

Restructured Television Deal in light of Covid 19

Karl15 - good job on the details. When talking about total 18-22 tv deal I believe the clubs did receive about $50mil as an advance payment prior to the TV deal started. wonder if the nrl will bring up the fact that playing all games in the same stadiums will significantly decrease the...

    Question on Peter V'landys

Is V’landys taking a pay cut equal to the players and Greenberg? Hope so. But i would guarantee that he is currently happy to accept his full racing wage?

Is Channel 9 the home of rugby league?

Just saw on Facebook a new show on 9 called “the Greatest” that’s coming soon. Not really sure what it actual is but it makes me think..... If channel 9 and fox aren’t paying the monthly broadcast monies isn’t that an acknowledgement that they feel the nrl aren’t supplying the contract details...

    News Coronavirus and NRL

Take Cameron Smith for example. If he is on $1.2 mil a year that works out to be $100k per month. He has already been paid for 5 months $500k. If he gets 55% of his wage for the next 7 months that is $385k instead of $700k. That means $885k total for the year. Which is 73.75%.

    News Coronavirus and NRL

media are misrepresenting the facts.... surprise surprise! The players have just recently agreed to a 45% decrease in wages a couple days ago. So from now to October they will receive approx 55% of there contracted money. Now the media/players have a issue that the nrl executive/commission have...

    News Coronavirus and NRL

My understanding is that the players are taking a pay cut of 45% from now till October where the pay year finishes for the nrl. The players have received 100% over the past 5 months and will get ~55% the rest of the year (45% decrease). Which roughly equates to 75%. By having the nrl play games...
