THE REF SUCKED....GOODBYE GIRDS & LANG

Have just seen the sin-binning. If you take it in the context of that one play, it was justified. HOWEVER, when you look at what the dogs got away with, it was the wrong call. Based on the precedent Mander set, it wasn't even a penalty.

THE REF SUCKED....GOODBYE GIRDS & LANG

Being a referee, I will comment on this, and I do not care if I lose my accreditation over this, because I was embarrassed and disgusted tonight. Tim Mander *edit* Thirdly, he may just be plain incompetent. To penalise Girdler for offside was a joke-he was not offside. If you look closely...

    Friday Night Football

No matter what time the game itself kicks off at, the 8-30 tetelcast time must not be changed. They tried 9-30 in 1997 and it butchered the game and ratings

    World Sevens qualifiers

No, no Brook. We're saving ourselves up for the big effort in the finals. What disappointed me was that the Wests Tigers weren;t drawn with a qualifier. How good would taht be? Wests Tigers V Western Suburbs or Wests Tigers V Balmain. Anyway, we deserve a shot at the big time...

    World Sevens qualifiers

You're an absolute genius bluebag. Many thanks. However, why the big break from 4-20 to 5-20?

Anybody know what time the tournament starts at St. Marys on Jan 21?

    Question for all

Apart from initial negotiations which could get dragged out, it only takes time to put together a press release with what you thought of the previous week's game, what you think will happen in the following week's game and your team for the following week's game, so not long at all. Plus throw...

    Question for all

The players will be real, and there will be a simulation programme. Hopefully I can get pepstar's off him.

    Question for all

Effectively, the game is played the same as sim city/Premier Manager. You manage your clubs finances through sponsorship You develop your clubs juniors through coaching appts and financial grants You maintain your stadium You buy and sell players You market your side through advertising...

    Question for all

What they currently do doesn't matter. Every side gets some money. That's all that is based on reality-how much money bthey have to start off. After that, it's all up to you.
  13. K

    Question for all

Well, it will be kind of similar, but the results won't be based on what real life players do. It will be far more strategy based than performance based. Money into juniors, sponsorship, exposure etc. will have a big bearing on results

    Question for all

How many of you would be interested in participating in a fantasy rugby league competition? I ran one at a website I used to be a part of and with the people who were interested, it really took off. Any takers?

one rule from Union I would like

Good point Angry, but can you imagine how much more open it would be if there's 30 seconds left and the side is down by 3? Rather than hoping with a bomb, they could actually engineer something

    Referees and Harrigan

But who defines when a player should be penalised for holding down? How much abuse should a referee tolerate before using the bin? Personal traits come in. I see many people are anti-referees here. Doesn;t surprise me really, considering the lack of respect we're shown on the field.

    Referees and Harrigan

Not once did I see a constructive comment in there EA. Perhaps you need to lie down and take a valium or two. As for dr. Death, How is a referee's own personal trait irrelevant when those traits determine how he referees?

    Referees and Harrigan

But what you talk of-never arguing-is symptomatic of showing respect. You may hate the PERSON, but you respect the BADGE/JERSEY. EA, if Harrigan is wrong for refereeing rep and finals matches differently to club matches, then surely aren't the players also guilty of not trying hard enough for...

    Referees and Harrigan

You can whinge about the fact your wife may have stuffed up, but you can;t claim to have any sort of authority. Ideally, the respect would be there. Unfortunately, it doesn;t happen. There are people who automatically believe that the referee is wrong and will bitch and even assault the...

    Referees and Harrigan

Politicians and Politics is like Referees and Rugby League. We can criticise people for their views, because we hold our own views, but we can't criticise them for the way they work as politicians behind the scenes because we have never done it.
