    punch - automatic Sinbin

Ok, so a punch (or a slap) these days constitutes an automatic sin bin to the perpetrators. Some would say its worked for a few years, some would say its made the game soft, as players have resorted to the push and shove. Anyway, I am not here to talk about that. We have seen a few cases of the...

    No MNF

Ok so it been shelved for down the track, the crowd numbers have always been poor to mediocre at best and teams usually back up lame for the following weekend. But, who else is suffering from a bit of withdrawal symptoms with no Monday night match tonight?

    Sons of guns

I just got out of the Tigers forum, where there was discussion about whether a particular player - the son of a former great of the club would even be a first grader at all if he had a different surname. Got me thinking, of the countless number of father and sons that have played the game in...

The Giltinan Shield for minor premiership

After hearing The roosters coach saying that he isnt really fussed on winning the minor premiership in the upcoming final round match against Souths, but is more focussed on winning matches (or words to that effect), it made me think about the value placed on winning the JJ Giltinan shield. This...

Joey commenting on SBW back in 04

Just watching a Dogs Vs Cows match from 2004 currently on fox. Sonny Bill Williams in his debut season scores a try. Waiting for the conversion, Joey chimes in from the sideline with a special comment saying that "This guy is going to have an unbelievable Rugby League career over the next...

    Inconsistent rule

Can somebody please explain this: a) A player is tackled and the defender slips off the tackled just as the player hits the ground. The referee calls held but the player doesn't hear the call and is not sure whether he is deemed tackled. He plays on and is penalised everytime. b) a player...

Hi guys/gals, I have to buy a Secret Santa gift for a Cronulla fan at work. I thought a Sharks NRL mug might be a good idea. Does anybody know where I can find them? Cronulla leagues club is not an option (too far), neither is Ebay (as I need it too soon) cheers!

Help needed re: Balmain's 1977 jersey

To help settle a friendly dispute at work, does anybody know who the jersey sponsor for the Balmain Tigers was in 1977? This was before the red and white AVIS sponsor. Maybe one of you have an old team photo or footy card, or maybe some of the old timers even remember who it was.

What I think Manly should have done

If ever a team needed to call a "cattledog" it was Manly tonight. They were simply worn down by the Dragons with a simple yet effective gameplan. Conventional footy did not help the Eagles all night, and I think a good blue might of helped unsettle the Dragons players a bit. At the same time it...

The worst fads in the game?

What are some of the silliest fads or trends that you remember players or coaches doing over the years? Three things come to my mind 1) Mascara under the eyes to help see the ball under lights for midweek games at Leicharrdt oval in the 70's/80's. 2) Those stupid nose things that supposedly...

    Balmain Leagues club

Yesterday while driving down Victoria Rd, I noticed that the big sign advertising the Tigers next home game was blank! I thought that with only 3 games a year at Leichhardt, it wouldn't be too much trouble for a proffesional football club to have it's nearest club advertising it's next match...

    Russell Crowe's Jacket

The jacket he was wearing when he left the Cop Shop looked like it had a Canterbury Bulldog logo on it. He wore the same jacket on Letterman I think, but I didn't get to see the interview. Was it in fact a Bulldogs logo? There was something written on the other side but I couldn't make it out...

I am looking for some extra work, and thought about delivering pizzas or stacking shelves at woolies/coles, as its evening work and that suits me better. Has anybody got any idea what the casual rate is for both these jobs for an adult?
